so i intend on getting my nipples pierced after i get top surgery because i like the way they look on guys. i heard getting your nipples pierced hurts a lot but you lose most of the sensation in your nipples right? so it shouldn't hurt nearly as much as it normal would, right? just wondered if anyone has had them done after top surgery.

I would be interested to hear about sensitivity after surgery as well. I have both mine done and they are pretty fantastic. It would suck to lose the sensitivity, and I don't want to lose the piercings either. I think they look nice.

anibioman: It didn't really hurt at all when I got mine done. The following few days were a little painful when my shirt rubbed against my chest, but actually going in wasn't so bad. My lip piercings hurt worse than getting my nipples done, and I have pretty sensitive ones.

I knew a guy who got his nipples pierced. He was cis though XP. Anyway, he described it as a worse pain than either of his penis piercings o.o. Apparently it has to do with all the weird maneuvering and that it's not a quick process compared to all his other piercings. I wouldn't recommend it because of the pain comment ;_;.

anibioman: I have a friend who had his nipples pierced both before surgery and then again after. He said it didn't hurt nearly as much post surgery. The he winked. I was wondering because I hated getting mine done, but again, want to keep the piercing once I've done my top surgery, even if it means getting it redone.

Darth_Taco: Fun fact, courtsey of my girlfriend who is a piercer, in general it hurts more for bio-males to get their nipples pierced than it does for bio-females. Perhaps because their nipples are generally smaller, or because female nipples are biologically intended to be chewed off by little children and are thus stronger or whatever. Also, there are a fair amount of piercings you can get down there which are about the equivalent of getting your ears pierced.

Ive only got ear lobe piercings, but I would have thought that after the pain of going through surgery getting them pierced will seem much less painful.  I suppose it depends on how effective the pain relief of your surgery is though, I just remember that my hand was pretty painful after having minor surgery on it, but then they only gave me co-codamol.

It probably will be less painful though, my nipples were pretty abused as a kid -- raw and bleeding from scraping them on the side of a swimming pool -- and I feel much less through them than most people seem to be able to.  Any trauma to them probably toughens them even if you dont lose sensation.

As a bio male I've had my nipples pierced twice.  First at 17 and then again ten years later.  Yes, it hurts, but nothing too horrible (worse than ears certainly).  For me I loved it.  It greatly increased my nipple sensitivity.  Nipple play really didn't do much for me prior to piercing - but it was a definite turn-on afterwards.  Both times I pulled the piercings out because of military service.

I've actually wondered lately if that increased sensitivity focused more of my sexual attention on the breasts and possibly contributed to my current trans state (MTF).

Funny story on the second time around:  About five minutes after leaving the piercing parlor the chain on my motorcycle broke and cracked open the crankcase.  After a buddy arrived we loaded it into his truck and by the time we were done I had ripped both nipples open and the front of my shirt was completely covered in blood!  It healed fine though I have a bit more scar tissue than I would have liked.

If you find your nipples are less sensitive thank you like (or are used to) after top surgery I do recommend it.  But remember YMMV.

In my male mode I had both of mine done I don't recall the pain could have been my buddy Jack was with me ;-) after alot of craziness they came out :-(  now as a woman I have had them redone I remember the pain OH MY GOD Is all I'll say but I made it through there nicely healed. One thing I do recall was the constant irritation as a guy just wearing a T shirt, this time around wearing a bra no irritation and my pink hoops are just so pretty.....

I have one of my nipples pierced, which I got done about five months after top surgery. It may have been a little too soon, but oh well. :P It didn't hurt very much; more of a sharp pinch, then a bit of an ache for maybe an hour afterward.

My nipple piercing was about on par with the large-gauge earlobe piercings I got a few weeks ago, I think. It definitely felt like a needle going through my flesh, but didn't hurt as much as I expected it to. My most painful piercing was definitely my rook (ear cartilage). That one hurt for hours afterward, and for weeks it would hurt if I knocked it.

Feel free to ask me if you have any more questions! I love to talk about my piercings, haha.
