Spirotone's active ingredient says is Spironolactone - SPIRO in short, and has been used just as is stated for this medication also, to develop feminization in transsexuals - amongst other things like hypertension control, reducing water retention, etc. etc.

Taken on its own (which I personally did not, I took Spiro with E) it would suppress T production and also MAY stimulate breast growth i.e. it is a T blocker when used this way.
It all depends on one's specific reactions as is the case with most any medication. It did squat for breast growth for me... even when taken E along with it.
It certainly dropped my T quite low, almost too low, and I had to watch out for high potassium containing foods, bananas, figs, potatoes, and so on.

Maybe you would want to ask your question about Spironolactone also? I think it be better known by that.

Just a suggestion though,

As alredy mentioned, this drug is used for a lot of things---including as a diuretic for people with high blood pressure----while normal insurance will fight you on taking estrogen, they easily approve this drug---it does cause breat growth, and nothing should be taken without a doctor monitoring your blood levels.
PS: I have been using it since 1972.

I took that only for a year, it toned down my sex drive and feminized my body some. Also skin was smoother, less body hair etc. Had a little breast growth but not a lot.

My endo doesn't like to start too many prescriptions at the same time so I'm on Spiro alone right now.  Insurance did cover it, no problem.

The bulk of the benefit I've had has been mental.  I'm so much more patient. I'm not as described as "Angry at the world," anymore by my SO.  I can sleep again!  My anxiety has been greatly diminished and I'm just calmer all round, as evidenced by me playing the best Tekken of my life.

I think my skin has changed a little maybe?  It's either that or the moisturizer I've been using.  Hair growth seems the same, though I have this bald spot on my head since I was a child and it feels like I have some fuzzies growing in it when I touch it now.

I'm also looking forward to getting blood work done next month because of the potassium issue mentioned.

Just avoid potassium rich foods and it's not an issue. No banana's, limit the amount of potatoes (don't have them at every meal) etc and it won't be a problem for most people. Also do NOT use salt substitute!! Like you that med alone did most of the mental outlook changes you listed for me as well. I really liked how it made me feel.

Three weeks on Spiro and one week on E and I already feel less confrontational. And no more morning woods, yeah!

It took me 2 1/2 weeks.  But MORE confrontational.  I was a shrinking violet before.
