He was very supportive and he asked some good questions but wasn't intrusive or disrespectful in any way.

I've been working for the same company for more than five years now, and whilst they're by no means perfect (what company is?), they have been very accommodating and tolerant of people's differences. He assured me that I'll have the support of the entire company (or he'll want to know about it!) and that he'll do whatever he needs to do to make my transition as smooth as possible within the business.

He even said - get this! - that it would be good for the business if I were to transition, because he'll wind up with a happier, more settled person in my role. What a guy!

I'm feeling rather fortunate and grateful. If only it were so easy with my family!

Lucky you! My boss was the same. I told him on the first day of work that I was a pre-op transman and he just went "Huh? Okay, cool. Everyone, this is Harry". I've just been treated like one of the guys since day one :3

That's awesome!  Congrats!  I had the same reaction from one of my bosses.  I think she was more excited about my name change than I was LOL. Everyone at work has been great and I know if something happened they'd have my back.  It's nice having that feeling isn't it?

I'm glad this is one area of my life that seems to be going reasonably well, and it's good to hear that some of you have had similar experiences. If only all bosses were so accommodating!
