You're a real hoot, but seriously,

no offense meant

No offense taken. Much of what I post here has an underlying humor that a lot of people probably don't get.

This weekend is going to be more fun: nine essays to read and an essay to write on The Children's Hour for GWS125 plus finishing and starting two other research papers. BTW that 1961 film is a MUST SEE. It details two women whose girl's school gets shut down over allegations of Lesbianism but the way the issue is danced around is a "real hoot."

Halloween used to be fun during the "dress up" stage but now, not so much.

I just found the entire film (The Children's Hour) on you tube:

Don't worry, Carbon, it will come around again next October 31st. Halloween, that is. Not your birthday.

don't worry I use an atomic alarm clock and my computer automatically syncs with time.gov

now I don't get to be confused about why I'm not more tired when I wake up though

Yeah, because if you don't you'll be late for church and that will really piss god off.

Didn't they learn you to capitalize God, for God's sake!

I must have been sick that day, I was only in Catholic School for 12 years, maybe I wasn't there long enough for them to get around to spelling.   They were so busy telling me this fairy tale that, well, lots of other stuff got lost.

Who made me?

God made me

Why did God make me?

God made me because...I can't remember the rest...something about making someone in His image. Being God must be really boring, eh?

Since I had decorated my house with four blowup devices, 3' witch, 3.5" skull, 9' ghost and 9' stack of pumpkins, and a lighted spider web and ghost show throughs in the windows, I stayed home and gave out mini candy bars.  I had on a black top and ankle length black skirt with red pumps, and a black wig, which caused the funny story of the night.  The wig was "too pretty" even though I had on zombie white or goth white makeup base, and one little male about 9 years old said I was actually a boy, because only a boy would look that pretty on Halloween.  His mother had not had any time to really tidy herself up, and she gave her son the absolute deadliest look that did not actually kill the kid.  I gave her a smile and told her I could have expected that from one of my GK's.  She grinned back at me girl to girl.

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!

A couple of my spouses co-workers invited us to go out for drinks on Halloween.  Once upon  time I would have prettied myself up for the event, but getting prettied up when you've lived FT for several years really is kind of anti climactic, so I opted instead to sew my own costume and went as a... skunk.  The black outfit itself was pretty easy to put together, but my tail ended up being a royal pain in the butt.  Reminder to self:  Next Halloween, NO FAUX FUR.

Anyway, we started the evening easy, giving out candy.  We really stocked up this year, but only had 3 kids show up at the door.  That's ok though, because I planned accordingly and only purchased chocolate candy this year... the kids loss is my gain.   Yay for lots of leftover chocolate candy!

About 9pm we headed out to meet the others at a local dive bar. The place was slightly busier than normal, with 1 or 2 open tables.  As we make our way towards the closest table I turned, side swiped a vampire, and the tail I worked so hard on ripped off and fell to the floor.  I bent over to pick it up, and while bent over heard a voice next to me say...  "Hi... nice tail."  I stood to face a really cute, well dressed guy.  I blushed, thanked him with a grin, then asked "it's Halloween... where's your costume?"  His response:  He held up his left hand, showed me a gold wedding band, then told me that this year he was pretending to be a faithful husband.  OMFG  By that point the rest of my party realized i was missing, and my spouse was working her way back to me.  He then looked at my left hand (I wear a diamond wedding/engagement set) and quipped "Oh wow... I thought I was the only one who would ever come up with the faithful spouse idea!"  OMFG x2.   We shared a few quick laughs before I got dragged away to our table, but a few minutes later the waitress delivered to me a glass of wine, smiled and told me my friend had sent it.  This wasn't my first experience flirting with a guy, but certainly the most fun encounter to date.

My Halloween was dare I say it...amazing? So I dressed up as a cowgirl and went into work extremely nervous. I went in to put my jacket on my chair and noticed everybody looking at me. The girl who sits in my chair before I come in looked at me startled when I first laid my jacket down.

Her response?

"Holy crap I didn't recognize you!" I smiled at her and went out to the lunchroom. One of my coworkers walked passed me and I said Hi in my guy voice. He stopped in his tracks. Spun around and says my boy name. Totally puzzled. Needless to say this happened many times that day, with most people thinking I was a new girl.

At the end if the day, this really sweet girl I love to death at work [ platonically ] says to me. " You know, you're really pretty and don't take this the wrong way, but I don't think you were meant to be a guy." That comment alone made me love that girl that much more. Oh. And I am not out publicly yet.

I'll post pics later :-)
We're beautiful, like diamonds in the sky
