So I honestly have a bit of a complex when it comes to me being such a feminine guy, sometimes, it really bothers me.
But earlier today, I found a video that made me feel a hell of a lot better about myself...

This is a video of Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead. Honestly, Daryl *and therefore, Norman* Is a huge hero of mine. I just love everything about the character and how he plays it off. But when I watched this video, I realized...his mannerisms are completely different from how he acts on the show. Not only that, but he has extremely feminine mannerisms, just the way that he moves his hands and shifts his body - it all reads very feminine to me.

So, I find myself feeling a little better about myself; knowing that a guy who portrays such a bad ass character in a show actually has very soft, and rather girly mannerisms and ways of presenting himself. Yeah...I feel really awesome right now, and not ashamed of my feminine traits (as far as being a man goes)

Do you guys have any experiences like this, where you find confidence in really strange and unexpected places that maybe make you feel better about who you are, or how you present yourselves?

Yeah, not exactly the same, but I told a male friend of mine that I was trans. Since I don't pass at all, I thought it was neat that he said at the end of our conversation, "You know I call my male friends 'bro'-- you want to be called 'bro'?" I said I did and when we left he said "See you later bro!"
Just felt great even if I couldn't quite shake the idea he was, well, not entirely sure about the whole thing.

First off: WOW! That's DARRYL?! NO WAY!!!! *Ahem* Sorry, that startled the snot out of me. I thought "No, way, the badass redneck? Fem? I must see this." But now? Wow, that was a major confidence boost for me too. He's one of my all time favorite characters, and to hear him talk/act like that IRL? Thank you for sharing that. I am much less ashamed of my slightly-girly side now. If he can do it, who says we can't too! :P I have now found confidence in a silly place

Jay - At first it's probably going to sound kinda... 'forced'. Because for awhile it's something people have to really think about, even people who really care (and in some cases especially if they really care). But after awhile it becomes second nature and people sound/seem less unsure. It just takes practice (for them) :)
What the hell was that?!                 From every wound there is a scar,
Spaceball 1.                                     and every scar tells a story.
*gasp* They've gone to plaid!        A story that says,
                                                        "I survived."

Well that's cool!
I'm glad to hear that he's adjusting for you!
That's great news!
It'll feel a little weird at first, but you'll get used to it.

Agreed! It's amazing, isn't it! And you're very welcome, it's worth showing!
Every time he says, "Or maybe a cruise ship!" It just kills me xDD

Yeah, when customers at my work started calling me, "Man," and "Boss," I was really shocked by it at first,
And now it just makes me feel awesome :)
