A short while ago, an admin for the L-Project contacted me about writing a blog piece regarding my family (me being MTF, one of my adult kids being genderqueer). Not long after that, Our Family Coalition asked me for a piece about being in a trans* family, so I shared the same doc with them. They asked to forward it to the Transgender Law Center.

A rep from TLC contacted me about doing a video interview for their "My Authentic Life" project, asking me to talk about my trans* family.

So, I get to go to TLC's Transgender Leader's Summit at UCB this Saturday.

I should add that all of this started when I replied challenging a somewhat transphobic comment left on the L-Project's Facebook page.

In the meantime, I'm still waiting for the L-Project to post the blog entry I wrote with Your Humble Savant. When it's live, I'll post a link.

So, I had my interview at UCB today during the Transgender Leader's Summit. It was a short thing, there were only 3 questions.

1. How do you live your authentic life.

2. What changes (in society, laws, etc) would you like to see to help make living your authentic life more possible?

3. Why and/or how do you support Transgender Law Center?

The cameraman, himself trans, said that they videos would eventually be compiled into a montage and probably be posted on TLC's web site. He didn't seem sure, but I think he was the cameraman and not the party organizing the project. I'll keep in touch with TLC, they've been most helpful with my paperwork stuff, and if it does get posted online, I'll post a link here.

I like the idea of a montage, it sort of symbolizes the contributions of many leading to bigger results. Keep us posted! Hugs, Devlyn

Thanks, folks. I had a great time doing this, and I love to hear others' stories. I'm looking forward to the montage, too.
