Hey everyone.  I was just curious to if anyone has bought hormones online and if they did if they were happy about the service.  I know I should speak to a doctor 1st or someone along those lines but I dont have the money for everything right now and I feel like its a waist to let someone tell me im transsexual when I already know that I am.  Also what would be the "recommended" dosagae and a good hormone plan?

[edit](Kimberly) Terri is quite correct. Perhaps you should review the Site Rules, in particular #7.[/edit]

Sorry Michelle, but nobody here is going to tell you dosage information.  About all you are going to get from us is see a qualified therapist and possibly a good Endo and let them tell you what is proper to take after careful examinations to be certain your body can function properly on them.

As to purchasing hormones online, be aware that some of those drugs may not be up to standard.

To the wrong person, even if they appear to be fit and healthy, hormones can be dangrous and even fatal over time, even if you never feel any adverse reactions to them.  Study the matter and see your medical people.  As to "wast of time" for someone to tell you that you are transsexual ..... well, there is a good percentage who get exactly what they asked for and totally wished they hadn't.

Get real, Get to a therapyst and a doctor.

I keep reading posts from people who say they dont have the money for a doctor but that they are getting hormones online. In reality the hormones you recieve online, especially from foriegn countries, are far more expensive. Besides the higher cost, you cannot be sure of the quality, potentcy, or even that they are the chemicals they claim to be. Besides, the physical and emotional cost can be outrageous.

What would you do if when you finally did go to the doctor they told you that your liver had been damaged to the point that no doc in their right mind would ever prescribe them to you? Or what if you were developing quite nicely and got dropped by a stroke? What good are those breasts you grew if they're riddled with cancer? Hey, what the hell, you saved a couple of bucks right? In the long run money should be the last thing you worry about. Take it from those of us who have seen the devastating effects that HRT can pose first-hand...go to a doctor.

Some docs wont prescribe to you if they find out that you've self-medicated. It shows a lack of responsibility and you can lose their valuable trust. Hrt is not something to be entered into lightly, unless you care nothing for your health.

Hello TSmichelle

As was mentioned earlier, you will not get any dosage information, or information on what types of hormones to include in an HRT regimen from Susan's.

You must go to qualified medical professionals for that information.  Also be aware that just because "x mg" of this works great for someone else doesn't mean that you will get better or less results simply by changing the dosages, or adopting their dosages.  You can not compare how someone else's body reacts to HRT, to the way that your body reacts, there are far too many variables.  It's not like taking asprin.

Make sure that you read the rules which you can find here:

https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,2.0.html

Being on HRT has nothing to do with you being TS, or needing anyone to tell you that you are TS.  There are lots of TS' who are unable to start HRT, and others who've had to stop because of complications, however they are still TS in every sense.

Sorry if all this seems a little blunt, but it's for your own good

Chat later

umm, i got a good one 2 consider..if u do online[i've thought of it 2] u miss out on all the medical or support staff monitoring like blood levels, body reactions like temperature & stuff....this means your dosage levels & extra advice will not change or be tailor made to your body's feminizing changes which means you might b selling yourself short..i'd prefer not 2 do that...arrabella.amore

I self medicated for awhile. My reason for doing so was that i had an endo apointment but it wasnt for 6 months and i simply couldnt wait any longer. My experience with buying online was the drugs worked well but were very expensive much more expensive than what you get from a pharmacy. Before I started I went to the Dr for a routine check up and had them run all the blood tests on me, everything was normal. I did a lot of research online and asked a lot of women in person to find out what a reasonable starting dosage was and started there. It worked out well for me, when I did finally see the Endo my T was super low and my E levels were just about where he wanted them to be.

My experiences were kinda what April had. My waiting list was 8 months long and I wasn't going to go that long. I self medicated and called around someone took me @ 2 months.

Also, it may sound rash, brazen, whatever... but honestly; now that I'm on HRT, if my doctor stopped my prescription for health reasons, I'd still self medicate. I'd rather die then to re masculinize... Plain and simple.
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

Just remember, Susan's as a site does not support Self Medication, in fact we preach against it.  We do not allow doseage amounts to be listed, we do not allow links to sites where you can buy drugs without a prescription.

It is extremely dangerous to your long term health.

We understand the realities of life and it does happen, but please try to follow the approved path of seeing a therapist, getting a letter and having a doctor prescribe your drug treatment.  And if worst does come to worst and you do it another way, please see your doctor for blood work and a checkup.
