Hello, I'm Ramon by birth on the path to MTF transition. Even though I have been quite aware of my MTF desires since I was in elementary its been one of those pipe dreams up until a while ago. To make a long story short I grew up in an intensely Christian home so open mindedness was not really something that was on the menu, not that I have believed in the dogma since I was seven, but homophobic hard-line Roman Catholic Hispanic communities are a good place to keep things to yourself. Anyways after graduating high school and going into University I started to seriously consider the prospect of becoming a woman, but after I figured out what it actually took, and realizing it was just as expensive and time consuming as my University degree was I got totally depressed and wrecked my first try at post secondary. But I took the summer to pull my act together and came back to school and am now ready to take my first steps into trying to seriously get my change done. Currently I'm taking the advice of the only trans I knew for my first steps.

1.) Finding a community of like minded people who know what they are doing and learn the ropes.
2.) Try to get a job and save up for hormones and phycologist.
3.) Start running and losing any excess body weight and get your health in tip top shape.
4.) Pick a more Female name than my long ass name and practice talking as a girl.

Well my brief little bio out of the way, I'm glad I came across this place and I hope I don't disappoint as a member.

Hey Mel - Big Welcome...  I'm new here myself, but one thing I know you can't disappoint as a member.  There are some guidelines to checkout, but this is a family; here for support and your well-being.  I know the RC Dogma too.  Makes you grow to be rough on yorself.  Post often.  Peace, Holly

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Aye, thanks Holly. I'm not really into that Dogma stuff, but especially my mom is so its like a real family concern. I don't really care about everyone else. Thanks for the info Ms. Obrien, I'll make sure to read my stuff and be up to speed.

Hi Mel, it's nice to meet you! I live near Boston. We have a pretty active Christianity Forum for dealing with the issues around transition. Give it a visit, if you like. See you around, hugs, Devlyn
