Soap!

Okay, I'll back up. If you look up 'acne treatments' on the interwebs, one of the first tips you'll run across is someone telling you to wash your face. And then you'll find it again, and again, and again. Because that sucker is everywhere.

And I was washing my face, every damn day, with no difference. Then one day my mother put a bar of soap in my shower, and posessed by frivolous joy I decided to use it simply for the novelty of holding a bar of soap, rather than my usual shower gel.

Whelp, the next morning my acne was almost all gone. It turns out, not just any soap will do the trick; sadly, no one seems to mention that part.

I actually can't believe how well it's working for me; I have a cabinet full of acne treatments that get nowhere near the good result that just washing my skin with a good bar of soap nets me. At the moment I'm using this: http://www.polyvore.com/dove_beauty_bar_go_fresh/thing?id=58193545 which seems to have little abrasives in it that help.

Basically, just make sure that the soap you're using to wash with is of a good quality; I was soaping for months without knowing that it was doing absolutely nothing to get me clean.  >:(

Agreed. I washed my face everyday with all sort of products, and I would break out horribly. I also use Dove, the men's facial and body bar. I don't think I've seen my skin so clear since before puberty. Great stuff. Glad someone else stumbled upon it too.
Not changed nor hidden - just a fluid movement.

Really, I use an anti-acne wash on my face, back and chest...since I have combination skin, I also use a non-oil based acne fighting moisturizer. Really, just set with that. Exfoliating, which is what this seems to do (soap in the OP) is a very good idea, too! Use a loofah!

Use dove soap.

Who knew it was so easy. If it doesn't work, I'm coming back here.
