I actually think the hair is pretty feminine... It could just be cultural differences here in England or because the only person I've ever seen with hair styled like that was a lesbian teacher of mine.

Nah, it ain't cultural. It is a more feminine cut. I think the issue is that it's a bit too long on top. Also, your eyebrows have a high arch. Guys brows tend to be lower. I'd try to grow them out or fill them in a bit to help pass.

Where I live, it's not a feminine cut.  The majority of people I've seen with it have been guys and the only reason the girls I know had it was because they hadn't gotten in to the beauty salon to get it whacked down.  -shrug-

@ Adrian:  :p My mom would say it would grow in darker, hahaha, whether or not it's true.

How do you grow out your eyebrows?

Now I'm thinking about Chia Pets.

I'm sure many transmen have had unfortunate run in's with eyebrow tweezers pre transition. That ->-bleeped-<- takes FOREVER to grow back out, lol.

Haha, well this is under the impression that they may still be tweezing them. But after years of plucking, they will usually fill in a bit once you stop. But it can take a long, long time, leaving a noticeable arch for a good period still.

Hey Joey, good to hear from ya. You got the round baby face and non distinct jaw line so your naturally going to look younger. Your eyebrows are also fairly thin and shaped, so you might wanna try filling them in a bit to help you look more masculine until they grow out. Don't cut your hair too short because it's going to accentuate your feminine facial features. If I were you, I'd get a cut a bit shaggy, but not too long. Your young so you may get sir-ed in some situations, but on most occasions you will not pass. No worries though. You don't have any majorly defining feminine features that T won't straighten out for ya. G'luck bro.

Thanks buddy. I've never plucked my eyebrows but my mum used to make me feel really stupid and say they were like caterpillars so I thinned them out using fine scissors - stupid move looking back now. I don't plan on having it cut too short, maybe a bit longer than the typical 'Justin Bieber' hair before he cut his short. I had it like that before but was too afraid to keep it like that so put in a side parting. Bought some guys clothes yesterday and actually wore them like a guy today rather than looking like a tomboy. Felt really happy :D

I was told it's kind of how the pants lay on the body, across the hips instead of the waist, but I'm not sure how much weight to put on that. I get my fashion advice from an MtF, who then gets her fashion advice from me.

ROFLMAO

I dunno really haha people just always refer to me as a tomboy as I usually wear girls jeans and just chuck on a hoodie so people know I'm a girl but a tomboy girl if that makes sense? I dunno how to describe it haha Whereas today I thought I actually looked like a guy if only I could have binded. It's hard to explain I just felt like a guy today haha. Don't be worried mate I think it's just my choice of wording and how I've been described in the past. From your avatar and photos you have posted you definitely look male so you have nothing to worry about! :)

If they do at all. :P  I haven't tweezed or waxed in two years and mine have hardly filled out and there are a couple of "bald" spots due to the fact that I ripped out the follicle while tweezing/waxing.

My cis male and has a few days spots in his eyebrows from where he accidently got a tray of roast potatoes in boiling hot oil spilt over him as a kid! You could make up an interesting story like that if someone asked.

Joey - thanks, was just wondering if there was some subtle difference I'd missed! Other than work clothes I can't remember the last time I voluntarily wore female jeans (I have to very occasionally because it takes about a week to get my clothes washed and dried because we have no heating or tumble drier and they're always the last clothes to ever get worn).

I don't have a choice but to wear girls jeans because guys ones don't fit me right :/ I'm a bit overweight and my hips struggle to fit right in guys jeans. Sometimes girls jeans can get away with looking like men's ones

Hey man, I'm plenty curvy and I can find men's jeans that fit. I'm sure you can do. Straight leg fit is always a no-go. Loose cut work well. It's hard to get them short enough, but I've found 34 x 29/30s, or 36 x 29/30s before. You just got to look hard. Also, don't know if you have these around, but the store Anchor Blue sells it's own brand of pants that are similar to dickies, but have more a stretchy material. This works well to avoid that stiff look dickies can have that can be rather uncomfortable for the curves.

Hope that helps.

I know you're young/living at home but you can still find men's clothing that looks good on you. I'm a cheapskate and every penny I can get extra goes in my surgery fund so I rarely buy new clothes (except hats,shoes,underwear..they gotta be new). Check out your local Goodwill. A lot of different brands and styles to choose from. For example last week I bought a pair of baggy Levi cargo shorts for $3. Try to get them baggy and don't pull them up to your belly button...sag them a little around the hip area. Just stay away from things that are tight, especially in the hip/ass area.

Ow! o.o;   I'm just hoping no one will notice. XD

On the subject of pants, I found boot cut guy jeans are the ones less likely to accentuate my hips.  I've got wider hips than thought (38 or 40) but I was able to find a pair of guy jeans that look all right though girl jeans are still less likely to make my hips look huge.

@ Fullthrottle:

Have you tried putting a sports bra on backwards over the other one?  It can help flatten a bit more and not be uncomfortable (it was looser than a binder, though).

I can't say you pass as male, but I'd put you at somewhere in the middle or along the lines of looking androgynous.  I can see a lot of potential (and I ->-bleeped-<-ing want your hair cut. :P )

I don't know what to say about hips, but I'm the same way.  My hips aren't going to do anymore shrinking because of the bone. I do wear tops that go down a little past, though, along with the jeans to minimize them and it seems to work all right.

Slim cut jeans look good on me. I'm on the heavier side. I just went into the store and tried on different fits. You might want to do the same thing, Joey. There's got to be some kind of mens jeans that fit.

Cleaning them up is different than making them spaghetti noodle thin with an arch.

I wish I could give you guys some of my eyebrow growth :/ I swear I have to pluck them every couple days to keep them nice and pretty.

If swapping were an option, I'm pretty sure eyebrow growth wouldn't be at the top of my list :p
