To all those Humbugs out there. As custodian of the red hot poker over the festive season, I will be making housecalls on the 24th with my poker in tow.

I will be collecting names so beware. I have Cindy's permission.

Also I will be visiting all those who are over festive as well so everyone beware.

It's a down under thing and yes I will enjoy it as I am just a little evil... >:-)

My son and I just decorated the Christmas tree, and hung the stockings. I just noticed, I need a new stocking with the correct name on it.

Thanks for asking, Cindy! I love Christmastime so much. I'm going back home to be with my family again this Christmas in the midwest US. It'll be cold so I need to buy a jacket! Let's see here...

What do you want for Christmas?
My sister and Mom always make me give them a list. This year I put:

* Necklaces (any type but prefer heart-centered necklaces, silver dangly chains, typically Forever 21 has good stuff), bracelets from F21, and earrings.
* Colored leggings (black, yellow, blue, brown, tan, etc.) – full toe or capri length
* Car charger for iphone 4s
* Pedometer for walking
* Spotify membership (I love Spotify!)
* Blank card set from Papyrus
* Time with my family :) (you are already giving me that, I love that!)
* Beginning and intermediate yoga dvd's
* Yoga mat (I think that would fit in my suitcase)
* iphone credits for apps
* Ceramic 1" flat iron
* SAMY Fat Hair 0 calories hair spray max hold
* MAC black eyeliner
* Gift Certificates
o Forever 21
o Target
o Barnes and Noble
o Fandango (movie website)
o Redbox
o Express
o Macy's

I decorate but I don't have a tree. I'm not here from like 12/18 - 12/30 and I don't want to be away. If I was here on Christmas day I would totally get a tree. When I move in with a guy and we have a relationship, then I'll get a tree.

Quote from: Cindy James on November 29, 2012, 03:14:38 AMAre you going to be alone?
No, I'm going back home. I'm going shopping with my sister, mother and father on separate days and I'm saving money to be able to buy them some things. I love taking time and buying them little things that mean a lot. I used to write them letters just telling them how much they mean to me but the last time I did that, like right after transition, no one said anything to me about the letters, I think they were pretty emotional, so I stopped doing it. I don't know how it made them feel.

We're having a Christmas cookie party this year too! I'm so excited! We invite the whole extended family over (we have a huge family) and we have little cookie menus and everyone eats cookies, visits and has hot chocolate. It's so much fun.

Here's a picture of me at last year's party :)

and the main store in town

I'm going to post new pics in my blog once I get home. Horray for Christmas, and awesome post Cindy, you made me smile!

Beautiful post Sis.

I know this is the first Christmas with their gorgeous new daughter and I think their hearts are bursting with love and pride. Just juggle the do-nut as needed :laugh:

Please give my love and best wishes to them. Your family is a model of what we should all be.

Love and have a safe and wonderful Christmas

Cindy

PS with the weather pattern here it is going to be HOT. high 30-40C, very little chance of snow.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Joyous Winter Solstice, Peace and Love to all, even (especially?) to our enemies, whoever/wherever they may be...

I will be by myself this holiday, first time in 23+ years. It's better that way, methinks. Just wish me well and I'll be happy.

Of course I wish you well.

So Beth spill the beans. What are going to be doing? Have you a new dress etc?

I've a problem I have got a gorgeous backless number, and it fits like brad pitt will fit in my bed.

Am I brave enough.... watch this space.

I'd normally offer to administer your punishment, to save you the trouble, but that's probably inappropriate  :laugh:

It may be hard to believe, but...nothing. I am probably going to do...nothing. That's ok though, 'cause I won't remember it. 26 December will show up, I'll go to work, and tell everyone what an awesome time I had. (Seriously, I dissociate really badly when I'm home. My son asked me one time what I did on weekends; I couldn't tell him, because I didn't know. The next weekend we found out. If I'm not washing dishes, clothes, or the toilet, I'm sitting on the couch with a vacant stare.)

I do sincerely wish everyone a happy holiday, whatever that means to them and theirs.

I have a 6 foot fake tree, but there is plenty of room for presents under it.  ;D

For many years we had a three foot fake tree that was so realistic, it shed. By the end of its days it was nearly a Charlie Brown tree.

Our very first tree was something my son made in preschool. We had a very small apartment back then and really couldn't afford a tree. But his class took pine cones, painted them green, and glued them into Styrofoam cups. There was even a little puff-ball thing on the top as a star, and it had been sprinkled with glitter before the paint dried.
