I'm not very good at introducing myself in a forum, but here it goes.  I am so thankful to have found Susan's Place while I was researching online.  My best friend, whom I have been friends with since we were in diapers, announced to me 6 months ago that she was beginning hormone therapy(MtF).  I've tried to do all of the research I can to be the biggest support system that I can be for her.  This website and 'family' of amazing people is a blessing and is really helping me to understand more about her transition and some of the mood swings(to be honest).  I am trying to talk her into joining, even tho we have several friends in the LGBT community, I feel like you can never have too many resources.  Her family is very conservative at at times while we were growing up she spent more time at my house than her own because my parents were much more open and accepting.

Well,  I guess that's it.  It's nice to meet all of the very kind and giving people in these forums.

Spring, your friend is indeed fortunate to have you in her life.  Caring and understand friends are a treasure.  I hope she realizes this.

Jamie, thank you! Caring friends are most definitely a treasure.  I am blessed to have her as a friend, as she has always stuck up for me and been there thru the ups and downs of my life as well.
