Firstly, apologies for the title. It is the title of the video.

This is another video by the same girl who talked about having AIS. I posted that in an earlier thread, For people who think gender is DNA.

After reading the thread Dizzy Spells on Estradot from SilentArchitech, I had a listen this this one.

I think it'll be useful.

I wonder if the androgen insensitivity syndrom makes a difference in a persons reaction to HRT. I've heard similar stories from other people on these boards about where they needed to take several different kinds of drugs before finding the right one that worked for them. I guess for some people it's quite a trial to find that right one, and for some its not so bad.

Really, it's impossible to say.

I posted this as I think her experiences are so similar you many here. No doubt, some of us have varying levels of AIS, but that isn't the issue.

What is, is her situation is much more akin to suddenly finding yourself, post op and having to discover what you do next. Dealing with issues. Dealing with people.

It would be dishonest for anyone to claim that any medicine doesn't have unpleasant side effects. HRT is no different in that regard.

We know that a small number of transgender people turn back at the HRT stage, simply because of the side effect, especially depression.

But this girl's experiences may be especially valuable. Not least because she is clearly, very intelligent and making so much effort to confront her situation.

AIS usually means no body hair and a more possible skin reactions to the patches she related to due to the thinner skin as well.  XY doesn't mean that you are male here.  Nor for me as a "normally" developed boy at birth.  So much for Chromosome 46,XY karyotype!

At the risk of waving Imogen's flag again, she also made a rather good video entitled: 5 BEST THINGS ABOUT HAVING ANDROGEN INSENSITIVITY SYNDROME  where she describes those points as well. I won't post the link as it will automatically post the video, but if you want to see it, enter thst title into YouTube's search box.

I did see her other postings on YouTube.  She is coping well for her condition.
