Well, tomorrow is my big day and step towards my GRS.  Although some decide to wait for the actual GRS I have decided (primarily due to the cost) that I was getting tired of some of the side effects of the Spirolactone (painful cramps), and taking Finesteride (more pills) etc, that my personal next step would be to get an Orchiectomy. I'm hoping that I can go ahead with my GRS within the next 2 years or less in order to make sure that I can be able to have my GRS done without complications since I know that sometimes waiting too long after an Orchie can give you some issues.
After this, I'll be getting my FFS. I am still looking for an FFS doctor that I am comfortable with.

I am soooo excited about this! (although I did have a little panic attack last night...but that is normal I suppose).

1) HRT = Check
2) Orchie = Check
3) FFS =
4) GRS =

Just wanted to share my joy with all of you.

Hope everything went OK and now you can put a big tick next to your check list.

That one's done and dusted. Very jealous but also happy for you.

Going to keep them in a pickle bottle?

Well, I just want to say thank you to all of you for taking the time to write your wonderful words of support. The operation went very wel . I wasn't nervous until a few seconds before and that was because my spouse was delayed in being allowed in to wish me luck. As soon as they saw me shed a few days tears, they pumped me up with valium, and it was all giggles to the OR.! I was awakend by the voice of my spouse and truthfully felt no pain. I thought nothing was done. LOL I was put into a jockstrap device filled with a few rolls of gauze. Then it was off to the other hospital where my baby daughter was in the ICU. I Luckily it wasn't a bumpy ride. I was wheelchairs into the ICU and Iwill had a rollable bed bbrought in so I could recover next to my little hero.
I have been able to urinate without issues. Everything seems to be healing well. A little bit discomfort when I sit or get up due to the blood flow. Nothing a few tylenol can't handle.
All I can tell you is that I have no regrets and that I am happy to be done with the majority of pills I was taking. The side affects of the Spiro were not the best on me.
Right now I'm in bed with an ice pack as directed. 20 minutes off and on.
Hopes this helps any of you thinking about an orchiectomy. Feel free to ask questions.
Again, thanks for the kind words girls.

Yay!!

So they put you out with a general?  I've heard it done with either a local or general, must depend on the physician?

Hope all is well with your kid!

Stephanie,

Good that it has been manageable pain with Tylenol and all is well. Blessings that your baby girl heroine will be okay and that you can be by her side.

Surely that should read 'Welcome the Newtered World.  We have no nuts.'

Congrats on your operation Stephanie.

Or, perhaps:  "Welcome the Neutered World. The only nuts we have are donuts."

Yes it was general. I have had some valium pumped in to me first.. That was fun!

I'm having a little pain on my sides above my area, but that is because of the severed nerves that were attached to the testicles.. I think. I've been bad about staying in bed. That could be why. I :( I
I have to say it feels great spiritually to have them out of my life. I can't wait to see what I look like in a bikini now. Lol
