Any advice from those of you that have gone through ffs would be great. I get nauseous from pain pills and itching so I am not quite sure what I can do about that. I wear glasses so not seeing will be fun. An the plane ride home seems a scary proposition. Any hints, tricks, or what you would of done different knowing what you know now kind of advice?

I am having forehead, t shave, and nose done. Thanks for any sage advice.

Are you sure you get nausea from all types of anti-pain meds or just some?  The anaesthesiologist or surgeon may be able to give you something that doesn't make you want to puke.

If you're worried about the plane ride most airlines have a system whereby you notice them in advance you arn't well/infirm or whatever and they arrange for you to be shuttled between terminals and stuff (i.e they babysit you from the time you check in to the time you arrive home).

I just went through 2 grafts and the pills killed me I got itchy and nauseous as heck.  I was able to take darvocet but that one is off the market. My doctor said just take some benadryl which didn't do a thing. It was a nightmare trying to keep any food down and or get any sleep because of the pain.

You should be pretty good to go by then, but if you are hesitant get wheelchair access coming back and have someone drive you home if possible. I just had forehead, lower jawline/chin and facelift, also some burring down of the left side of the nose, and it has only been now going on the third day and I am pretty good now, so with what you are having done, you shouldnt have any issues.  You can get "pills" perhaps that you are not allergic to.  I am thinking you are talking about the antibiotics.  I am allergic to several that cause a lot of itching, so i am on one that doesnt cause this.

My ex says she is allergic to pain killers because they make her itchy, which i think is BS, they make lots of people itchy! she is able to take Tramadal which is similar to codiene in strength, think tylenol 3. The truth is Itching and nausea are normal side effect of narcotics, some people just get it worse than others. I for instance don't get that nauseous from most pain meds but morphine really makes me want to puke if I move around when I'm on it. Your Dr will likely prescribe either Percocet or Vicodin for post surgical pain. They both are a mix of acetaminophen and an opioid. Percocet has oxycodone in it while Vicodin has hydrocodone in it. They are pretty comparable though I get itchyer on Percocet than I do on Vicodin. Benadryl will help with the itching but won't do anything for nausea. My FFS dr prescribed an anti nausea medication for me as well as Vicodin. The combination of anti nausea and pain killers knocked me out which was great, who wants to be awake for the discomfort that is FFS!

I recently had breast augmentation and my Dr prescribed a medication called Emend which I took right before surgery and it help with post surgical nausea from the anesthesia.
