Which means no communication, no trade and NO PILLS. How well could both a post-op or pre-op transsexual adapt if their hormones get forcibly cut off? What would be the physical effects on both? How damaging would this be to his or her body? In this already stressful situation, is it probable that we would be driven utterly insane and start murdering people on the streets for no reason? >.<

Just curious, lol

EVERYONE would go insane. Why only trans folks? Makes no sense.
We are FAR from being the only ones needing these things.

Well of course, lol, but we'd have our own added, hormonal burden which would make us snap easier. Ugh, the whole thing sounds horrible.

ZOMG it's prolly gonna happen someday. =.=

It better not! Hormones will be the first thing i start robbing for! rofl!
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

The Zombies will be after you!!

Or you could end up being a zombie on HRT. That could be interesting.

I would not want to survive the breakdown of civilization. It would be a very ugly world indeed, especially for women.

to answer you question though a pre op would simply revert back to a male hormonal system and a post op would be a lot like a post menopausal woman regardless of her age.

When I was in my early 20s and in deep denial I got into martial arts and then into guns. I started hanging around with the end of the world (UN is taking over the USA) gun nuts. I learned a lot of stuff about how to handle myself in desperate circumstances. Years later, after my transition, I became a Hummer enthusiast (the big giant offroad trucks) and at one point I owned 3 of them. A lot of those people are extreme survivalists and again I learned tons from them. I met several hummer owning women who were also into survival. In fact one of my friends just had severe damage to her home in NJ due to Hurricane Sandy and yet she laughed it off. She was completely prepared.

As for me, I learned a lot over the years. I am the perfect post-apocalyptic cockroach survivor :) I know being without estrogen for years would probably shorten my life, but at least I would live and I know that nothing would ever grow back :) At the very least I would still die a woman.

A lot of Mormon families I know have a year's reserve of food in their basements.  Their relief centers as well.  One was in the Katrina area and was the only relief operation running right after the storm passed, this surprised the local sheriff when he was looking for help.  This center was open to all.  It had staff that was trained by the church.  FEMA was nowhere to be seen.

A nuclear explosion 120 miles above the ground could wipe out our power and communication distribution networks and even fry your smartphone an EMP (Electro-Magnetic Pulse).  This is more feasable than an X class CME off of the Sun.  The power grid has been hardened and they are hooked up to the solar weather forecast net and they will adjust the grid accordingly.  Enjoy the aurora.
A massive solar storm flare was observed in white light, the first and only time without an Ha pass filter which was not available at the time.  This event in 1859 was known as the Carrington Event.  This one caused problems to the telegraph lines.  It caused a fire in one telegraph office and injured the operator.  There were many fires to lines and the poles with a lot of the arcing.  It also shocked the other operators in the US and Europe.  There was a call to disconnect the batteries and use the induced power on the line.  That effect lasted two days.
