Apples Mk.II

The Main anti Androgen that is prescribed in most European Countries.

Is it common to get that side effect on it? I imagine that's what I will be prescribed, but I am already prone to depression, so it scares me what it could do. I can't imagine dealing with an increased effect...

I suffered from depression as a side effect of Androcur. I was taken off it and my levels were tested. Negligible T levels - and 6 months later they have barely increased.

No way of knowing how it might affect you - it didn't cause me depression, but it has to some people. They're more reluctant to prescribe Cyproterone (Androcur) in the UK because of potential harm to the liver, than because of potential depression.

A lot of smartypants are trying to convince me to illegally jump to it. As I keep saying, "We'll see what happens when I have to give explanations to the therapist and see if they adjust or change my drugs"

If I was going to do something stupid, I did it with spiro. Less side effects and less problems to stop it.

I did notice lower energy levels after starting CA. But I can't be 100% sure if it is directly related and not simply lower T levels. The liver has a limited capacity to deal with toxins. A low dosage of CA on its own isn't going to do any damage, unless it's already being stressed.

I have seen some girls on YouTube in England who get a shot that shuts down Testosterone, what is that called and is it common in England?

Decapeptyl SR (brand name of Triptorelene), which suppresses T production directly, as compared to spiro and Androcur, which both suppress T uptake. Decapeptyl is very effective, one slow-release shot every 12 weeks, but it's expensive. It also causes a big T spike for the first two weeks, first time you have the shot, for which Androcur is the recommended treatment :).

It seems to be becoming the AA of choice at UK gender clinics, since we don't generally get spiro over here, and Androcur has potential liver issues.

I hope at least it does not have the same weakening effects as spiro. Added to my insomnia is not exactly great.

Cool! Thanks for the info.  :)  I bet its not even available in the US. I've never heard anyone here mention it.

Its main use is as a treatment for prostate cancer - which is made worse by high T levels. It is also given to women to stimulate fertility. It is definitely available in the US.
