I do have other autoimmune anomalies, and have been told this may get worse on estrogen, so perhaps this is a direction to look in, just in case. My immune system was in any case borked in early childhood by something mysterious (it was the 60's, and Israeli doctors were not yet at the top of their game) caught from dog poo. I catch any virus that's going around, and take longer to get over it. At least I have my humour(s).

Sorry Sis I remember you telling me that in the past.

It may be an idea to get a referral to an Immunologist, and I'm too far away and I don't do house calls; except to studs ::) :embarrassed:

I'm no stud - I aim to be all mortice and no tenon :).

Getting referred to an immunologist is something my GP told me to do years back, I just never got around to it. Perhaps now is the time, while there's still an NHS (Mayans willing...)

Definitely, most immune diseases develop gradually and by the time people get to see a specialist there is not much that can be done. RA is a classic, by the time the patient presents to a specialist you pat them on the head and give them big poison in a hope to slow it down , if they had seen a specialist five years previously they may have been put into remission for many years.

That is not to say that there are some really good treatments available that weren't around a few years ago.

But being treated when you are healthy sure beats treatment when you are crippled.

All my joints are well-behaved, thank goodness.
