Hi Everyone,

I was just taking stock of the improvements to my skin from recently having started cleansing and moisturising, and I'm pleased to say there is a marked difference, when I started to pay attention to my eyebrows. I have been plucking for years to prevent a hideous monobrow and what seemed to be a line of hair descending down the bridge of my nose. For the rest though my barber would just trim them to a certain length. Should I continue to trim them? Or pluck the longer hairs, some of which can be over 3/4 of in inch long, and hope they grow back less wiry and uncontrollable ? I'm a little concerned about making them patchy!

Any advice or experience would be much appreciated, ta.

Go to a beauty salon and get them shaped and waxed.

It takes ten minutes. They are totally use to dealing with boys and girls, in case you feel uncomfortable as presenting as female. Many guys get their eye brows shaped. It is very normal as even guys don't want to look like a gorilla. They will not even blink and it will cost about $20.

When you feel comfortable get them shaped to a feminine style. If you don't feel comfortable just ask them to trim them to look good.

Nothing to it.

I just use a beard trimmer on mine - otherwise they do this:

Get them professional done and then you can maintain them.

Wow Padma, those are some wild eyebrows!  ;)  I think mine would do the same if I let them.
Thanks for the advice every one, professionally done it is then.

I just use tweezers to pluck some fine eyebrow hairs once or twice per week. For hairs in the nose bridge, I applied Tria while closing my eyes, although it can be very dangerous (Tria is not recommended for facial use). My eyebrows:

Just do it.

If you have long eyebrows just trim them with hair clippers, a number 2 works well but start at a three just in case. Once you've got the length under control just pluck them as you would normally. Thin eyebrows don't look right on everyone. I sometimes used to pluck mine to death but it doesn't necessarily create a more female look, sometimes it just looks odd. Odd will always draw attention.....
Make sure the plastic depth thingy is properly attached to the trimmer and remember that shorter than a two is not good. I picked my trimmer up once and without checking I ran it over my eyebrow once before realising my mistake. My entire eyebrow had vanished and I ended up removing the other one as well to keep things balanced. I was getting funny looks for a good few weeks before I started to look normal again.
see you on the beach....

I need to wear glasses to read and for close up sight so doing my own is nearly impossible.I get them threaded in the shopping centre for £5. Don't know how much in bucks that is.
