I like reading local "street fashion" blogs, its always interesting to see what people are wearing, and there's usually a wide age group and body types. Seeing what makeup people wear is interesting also. I don't remember the last time I saw anyone with eye shadow but, like I said, fashion is probably a little different everywhere.

It's pretty rare that I see someone without eye shadow here, but they generally don't wear the more vibrant shades. You usually can't even tell they're wearing it until they blink.

Also to piggy back on learnedhand, I agree about the eyeliner. I wouldn't really eyeline the bottom portion. Very very few girls can get away with it.

Eyelining the entire eye will make your eyes to appear very small. I would recommend the top eye and just a small line until you can work with it. I use asphalt black ink with a micro tip brush. I don't really spend much money...I use eyeliner from hard candy. 6 bucks and it lasts 4 months with constant use

It really depends on your eyes if you can pull off the eyeliner on the top and bottom. I wear eyeliner top and bottom and here is a pic

I also wear eyeliner at the top and the bottom, but I think I can get away with it because I wear glasses and only use a very thin line, so it pulls attention away form the glasses and more to my eyes.

Eye shadow is still popular up here in New England. I tend to wear a light brown on the lid and a lighter tan near the crease. The girls in my office wear eye shadow too. I find that if I don't wear eye shadow, the eye liner makes a mark on my eyelid, which looks completely ridiculous whenever I blink.

If I'm wearing eyeliner, I wear it just on the bottom. If I do the top it makes me look like I put too much makeup on, like I'm trying to be a rocker chick. Normally I leave the eyeliner alone though.

TBH I get away with just concealer, powder, and usually some lip gloss. All I'm wearing in my avatar is concealer, powder, and some eyeliner on my bottom lid. Natural is totally in atm.
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.

I'm with you Alaina, I don't even wear foundation or anything, I just line my top lids with little cat flicks in the corners and a little mascara. Very occasionally ill do the bright red lipstick thing but that's only when I'm going out, I tend to dress slightly "rockabilly" from time to time so the lips kind of need to be red.
Also, I agree with the earlier comment about how average virtual makeover things are... They tend to just look like a grotesque characture...  I have years of photoshop experience so I can do the whole virtual FFS thing but yeah... I stay away from the automated things.

Yeah I personally like how the eyeliner looks on you, and i think it works on my eyes too.

I still am going to figure out a creative way to wear bright colors, even during the day. I wan't to be myself but i also want to look good for myself.

same here. We have a strong Mennonite population in Lancaster County and they even wear eye shadow.

And I agree. The best eye shadow are the ones you cannot tell unless someone blinks. I'm not a big fan of someone putting a color all the way up the eyebrows

Lol even the Mennonites? I guess eye shadow must really be in fashion :p

Lancaster? That's right around the corner from here. I go camping out that way sometimes.

Well thank you. Just like all girls we need to try new things and see what does and doesn't work. I like the way that i look and thats all that matters. The thing i do (like every other girl) look at my face. my outfit and my butt and think to myself (if i was a guy would i hit on me) and that has helped me out alot plus its great to have amazing friends also.
