Personally I find the whole thing incongruous!
Somehow or rather, I now word associate "Boston Tea Party" with right wing politics, and finding a "Lady Boy" in the midst is rather uhm... whacked.

To me, it's a bit derogative, but I'm trying to move beyond labels these days and not be offended.

I think over here, there's more an association between Boston Tea Party and "revolutionary" - or there was until the GOP folk started using that monicker. So they probably picked the name for the cafés when it still sounded edgy :).

I think its funny...

..but then again, I have a sense of humor.
"For transpeople, using the right pronoun is NOT simply a 'political correctness' issue. It's core to the entire struggle transpeople go through. Using the wrong pronoun means 'I don't recognize you as who you are.' It means 'I think you're confused, delusional, or mentally I'll.'. It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

Lady Boy is an asian based term for trans people.This is hard to hear yes and they are seen as 2 things 1) an attraction-something people come to see and have their picture taken with or 2) a prostitute,because if you are not in show business then you have no life or money.I do not agree with this term and most asian countries do not give legal rights to trans people.for example,you are not allowed to change your marker on id's,bc, or anything like the such so you get the point.they encourge it only because it brings money,people from around the world and business to their country.

Hi Padma;
The Boston Tea Party cafe is my favourite place in Exeter. Its the only place I can get a real cup of coffee. Their large skinny milk Latte is just great. I frequently go there after a beauty therapy session at my beauticians in Queen Street or after been shopping in Marks & Sparks just to rest my feet in my heels!.  Mind you right now I prefer being in the warm weather. Looking at the weather in Exeter right now makes me shiver!
Hugs
