Hello everyone,

This is my first time posting on an on line forum. I am an out m-f preoperative transexual. I came out when I was 16 and started living full time at 17. I ran away from home and was on and off again homeless until I got my first job at 19. When I was 20 I legally changed my name and was castrated. I have since been living as Julia. I am now 25 years old, and I live with my boyfriend and cat. I am in school, pursuing a teaching degree in English and Theater. My boyfriend and I are trying to find ways to save up the money, for me to finally finish my transition. I am looking for information on surgeons and peoples experiences. I am pretty knowledgeable from my many years of activism in the community, so I am always happy to answer any questions someone else may have.

It's nice to meet you.

Hi Julie,

Another big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

There can't be too much wrong with you, if you love cats. In fact that makes you one of the most intelligent people on earth. Thank you for sharing that no so good time of your life, with us. Seems to be a lot of healing has passed under the bridge. You are so lucky to have a boyfriend who is just so supportive. He sounds like a keeper. Good luck to you.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Hi Zoey,

When I was 19 years old I had to cut my hair off so I could get a job, and get out of homelessness. It was the hardest thing I ever did. I thought I would never be able to truly become myself. A year later I was making my name change legal. It will come, and 19 is still young.  ;)

I wish you the best of luck Zoey, were you are now is the hardest place, but it will only get better from here. Remember that how old you are, when you start living full time, is not nearly as important as, how prepared you are before going full time.
