I have been experimenting with several types of facial hair remover and none of them work consistently. I can shave but the way my hair grows in its impossible not to see it even whn I put makeup on. Nair worked for one day but apparently my beard and mustache are determined to grow as quickly as possible and the smell from the chemicals lingered for far to long for my liking. Id love to go for laser hair removal or something else more perminent but money is always an issue unfortunatly. (and if i did that i might as well go for everything on my body since it grows with almost the same tenacity) Does anyone here have suggestioons for a better way to go about it? Shaving just takes to long and I go through razor heads (even the good ones) far to quickly.

Well there is waxing but this can leave scars and other issues with the hairs.
Then there is hair removal sprays, but these can case burning similar to if you lip caught on fire so very risky.
You then get those hair removal creams however if you have a bad reaction say good by to that pretty smile.

Your only real choices are electro or lazer, lazer is cheaper.

I mean there are other silly ways like become a ganster or a bank robber or a clown so no one ever sees your face 

But yea you want a smooth face then you gotta pay the price.

Also Jacqueline it looks like you are probably a good candidate for laser, light skin w/ dark hair. Groupon has some good deals if money is an issue- diode laser (Lightsheer or Alexandrite) works best for that skin/hair type combo.

Laser didn't helped much for me, may be its because of my South Asian skin color. I did some research on the web regarding laser Hair Removal and it seem like it is a  Permanent Hair reduction. not a Permanent hair removal.  My advise is to do some research what suite you best before start anything.

For the face, laser and electrolysis are really the only way to go.  If you have a bit of money put away you can usually get a deal on buying a block of sessions all at once.  You already know you'll need a number of laser sessions anyway.  Just be sure to try out the clinic at least once before you invest to make sure you are comfortable there. Start with laser and then go on to electrolysis when you're mostly cleared and just need to go after that last crop of recalcitrant hairs.

I don't really have the money for this either, but I feel like it is important enough to make sacrifices in other areas of my life.  I've got a budget that tells me how much I can afford to spend on myself each day.  It's about $10 a day and each day I start out with $10 bill in my pocket.  Whatever is left of that money at the end of the day goes into my fund for electrolysis and other procedures.  Having that symbolic $10 bill really makes a difference and it makes me think about how all of the small things in life can add up.  I bring a lunch from home rather than buying one at work.  I make tea rather than going to Starbucks.  I drink water or unsweetened ice tea rather than buying soda.  Each day that I can come back home with that $10 bill is a small victory for me. 

Budgeting this way has also been good for me in other ways.  It means that I tend to cook more at home and eat fewer preprocessed convenience foods.  I drink less than I used to and I seldom eat at fast-food outlets. 

It can be hard to do and takes some additional planning, but it has helped me stay focused and positive.  It makes me feel as though I am doing something each and every day that helps me move forward.

If your budget is already beyond the breaking point, perhaps a second job would help.  Think of the time spent working as an investment against the many hours you'll spend plucking and shaving the rest of your lifetime.  I used to fuss over my beard for at least 1/2 hour a day. That's nearly 4 hours a week.  Working just an extra 8-10 hours a week would go a long way towards paying for laser and will free you from a lifetime of razor burn.

DONT epilate your face if its so thick that its growing in that quickly. You will be crying in pain and it will take hours, and it will still grow back rather quickly. Not to mention you will suffer from painful and unsightly ingrown hairs and then scarring.

You need to laser or electro thats the only way, for passing now u can shave and then go crazy with the concealer, get dermablend covercreame or something similar.

Laser is the cheaper route, a lot of girls get it done for 50 bucks a session entire face, and it makes a huge difference.

Thank you all very much! I have tried a friends epilator and it works well, but it still grows back quickly. I do try to budget myself and have done fairly well so far but a second job isnt possible right now since im going to school full time during the day in addition to working a fulltime job at night. I am saving up at the moment for HRT though im sure that lazer will be the next thing. For now im just going to have to shave and conceal. Electro would be the better option and I think having it follow a lazer session would be a good idea.

I definitely had to use the epilator about 3 times before I noticed a significant reduction in the speed at which the hair grows back (for arms, torso, legs)

Chances are on the first go you didn't actually get all the hairs plucked out, sometimes it kind of just trims them. Keep at it and the hairs will eventually get plucked (and ones that regrow will come out easier, too) then it should last a looot longer

That $100 'maximum' is going to depend on all sorts of factors..

hmm... its a possibility. 800 is pretty steep, but for 6 months maybe I can swing it. I'll definitly look it up and see what the rates are around here. Thank you all again!
