For several reasons, not the least of which is that I'm a coward, I had not told my brother about my little change.  Well anyway, Last week I put "The Letter" in the mail to my brother.  He called today and we chated for quite a bit.  He said if it makes me happy, then go with it.  He also said I probably should have come out a long time ago as our mother always wanted a daugther.  Looking back now it's like DOH.  Yes I should have.  Anyway,  I just never know how people are going to react.  My brother has got to be the easist so far.  Of course he remembers my difficulties growing up too.

It's just nice when family still stands with you.

I do need to tell the Aunts and then I'm out to everyone

Wow Beni, that's terrific! What a *great* brother! Did he seem to "get it" after your chat? Ya know, really understand what this is all about for you?

How do you think the aunts will take the news? Do you plan to write them or tell them in person? I'd imagine the timing could be tricky, as aunts can often gossip... you may only need to tell ONE of them ;)

Oh Wow, :eusa_dance:
That must be a great burden off your back Beni.
And to have a understanding brother has got to be so uplifting.
One step at a time and you will soon be there.
Hugs,
Jillieann

My Brother is a Pilot for American out of Miami.  He's had dealings with transexual pilots in the past, so he're pretty up on what's going on.  It surprised him, but not that much.  As he said, He had know for a long time that something was up inside me, because I never behaved as a normal guy.

Oh Yes Kate, I only need to tell one aunt and everybody else in the extended family out to about the third cousin's will know within 4 hours.  Not sure how they will take the news as they are southern aunts in every meaning of the word.  They live in Savannah and I'm of course am in california now.  I think I'm taking the cowards way out with them too and just sending them a letter.  Actually one of my aunts called me last week and I answered the phone as well me.  Took her back for a minute.  Oh well,  I just finished up the letter to the aunts a bit ago.

Yes most of the hard steps are done.  Now I'm just waiting for the world to change.

Congrats Beni.

I'm sending a letter to my Mom in a couple of days, don't think I could bear hearing what she might say on the phone.

Good luck Rhonda

You might be surprised, but you never know.  As My brother said to me I should have told mom 30 years ago as she always wanted a daugther.  20/20 hindsight does not really help.

Take care
