When do breasts stop growing? Can I get them extra crispy?

I just would like to know what to expect in the various stages of breast growth. How many years until they are finished cooking in the oven? What exact changes will occur on the nipple and the areola and mammaries or fat tissue.

I should point out in my case i already have gynecomastia and breast tissue due to having mild AIS. So what can I expect? I'm a size B now without hormones.

Kia Ora Shawn,

When I first started HRT in 1997/8 I was told by various sources, that they tend to slow down [growth that is] around 18 months, but subtle growth could continue for another 4 to 5 years...

I personally found after 18 months the HRT went from producer/creator to maintenance worker...

But I guess to be on the safe side, it all depends so YMMV

In all honesty, due to the fact we are all so uniquely individual; nobody can predict anything with respects to breast growth. What will be, will be.

I'm on a low dose HRT regimen and I didn't really expect much from the boob fairy because of the low dose. I've been on HRT for about two years now and they have steadily grown the entire time, with extra growth spurts here and there. Just this week they have been itching furiously so they must be growing again. I'm a solid A cup inching toward Bs. Like Catherine said it's an unknown.

Yes but don't they have to stop? Even in ciswomen they stop don't they? Or can you still get bigger with herbal or other methods.

Mine went to a B cup after about 2 years of HRT, then stayed there for many years.  About 6/7 months ago I changed HRT meds and they've gone up another few cup sizes to a DD.  Go figure.  I'm sure the girls at work think I had a boob job.  :o

Did anyone take progesterone to also help with breast size? Anyone do anything else?

Also I have seen a few people say it stops after 4 years.

I was on Marvelon 28 for years after SRS until the recent change.  That's Ethinyloestradiol and Desogestrel.  I'm not sure what I was on prior to SRS.  But the same plus spiro, I think....

Shawn, you need to consider that breast are comprised of mainly two types of tissue.

The adipose, or "fatty," gives breasts their shape and mass (marked as "7" in the diagram from Wikipedia).

Glandular tissue, which includes the lobules and ducts, act to facilitate the production of milk (3 and 6).

Male-bodied persons with "pseudo-gynecomastia (i.e. "moobs") are usually overweight, and their breast tissue is almost entirely fatty tissue.

Males with true gynecomastia. like myself, have both glandular and adipose tissue.

Some people have both conditions.

well the endocrinologist said I have true gynecomastia, I have had moobs since i was 15, even when i was super skinny.

You and me both.  If, at some time, you begin to take estrogen, you will likely notice the formation of more glandular tissue in your breasts.  I just about six months on low-dose estradiol, my glandular tissue increased from the size of about half a shelled walnut to about the size of half a golfball.

I Though I do seem to recall some long ago discussions that suggested, where a male-type beard area is concerned, that methods that women can typically use without trouble, really can't be done on that more robust set of follicles generated by testosterone exposure.  In some cases, practices related to treating the effects of PCOS might also apply to us, though?  Something tells me if waxing works at all on a male-type beard, it's likely to be really, really painful. I've epilated most other areas of my body but I wouldn't even try it on my relatively mild beard jaw and upper lip.

Probably good to check with the person you'll be going to, and maybe check other sources online (or more directly) to see whether there's any disagreement, and if there is, what the reason might be for varying points of views on that.  I really just want to be cautious, especially with anything where there's a risk of damage, either at deeper levels, or where there could be long term cosmetic problems resulting from making a hasty decision, based on just one person's assumptions and training.

Mine continued to grow out for I am going to say maybe 7 years, although near the end it's not much really. After about maybe 4 years or so, There was no more tenderness just a realization when I got out of the shower that hey my boobs look bigger. The nipples and aerola get bigger. I noticed the most amount of change after my Srs surgery. There was definitely a growth spurt after that and that lasted for a while.

Where one ends up on the boob front is anyone's guess, so trying to make a general statement of how big, how small, well my guess would be as good as anyone else's.

In my particular case, I noticed after about 5 years I had assymetry, my right boob was bigger than my left. So I decided to have a boob job to equalize them. Hope that helps!

Hi, Shawn. You sound very familiar - are you me, posting while I sleep?

Kidding. Anyway, I'm in the same boat. Respectable breast growth Pre-hormones (there's a few wrinkles in my B-cup), no reduction even when in standard weight range, endocrinologist inspected them and said they're real.

My main concern is, does the obvious presence of female hormones (or even genetics, although that's pipe-dream-y) for much of my teenage life indicate that I've basically been on an HRT regimen without knowing it, and that adding pills won't do much? Or do I still have a ways to go?

I guess we'll find out. :) I started HRT last Thursday, so ask again in six months?
Don't lose who you are along the path to who you want to be.
