I've heard good things about epilators.

I'll have to look into that. Maybe it'll be better.

This us very strange. I'm still losing hair around my waistline.

If you end up with a burn on your skin afterwards..... (cause that will happen sometimes with Veet or Nair-type products) Witch Hazel followed by hydrocortisone cream will really help relive the pain and help heal the burn!  Hope you feel better hun!

Thankyou for the tips, it has left a rather nasty burn.

Waxing is probably less painfull than epilators and it's faster too.

Using an epilator is like using a machine made for tweezing hair fast or waxing hair slowly.
So it's something like waxing your hair very slowly or tweezing very fast.

I'd recommend waxing a few times - preferably by a professional - and once you're used to the pain switch to an epilator.

For the burn have you tried something to treat it?

Make sure to keep the area clean and sterile and have you tried consulting a doctor or a medic if the burn is bad?

I'd go with the waxing. It is a lot faster and less painful than the epilator. I do not use my epilator on my legs anymore because it tends to break some of the hairs. I do however use the epilator for my underarms. Works a treat!

I only have to wax my legs about once a month now. I am very lucky that I have no body hair at all.
The regrowth on my legs is very wispy and thin.

I have never liked the depilatory creams. Chemical burns are too easy and it hurts like hell.

Waxing is the winner.

I use a Braun epilator and its great.  I shave once a week an then about the sixth week let my leg hair grow out and then epilate again.  my legs stay smooth almost the entire time and the hair is thinner too!  It hurts like heck the first few times, now it's a mild to moderate pinch feeling when I do it.

I used to wax but the epilating is cheaper and more convenient than going to a waxing place. I feel no pain at all now and only have to do it about once every three weeks.

For future reference, and for those who are considering using a depilatory, it is recommended that you first test it on a small patch of skin to see if you experience an allergic reaction.

When in doubt - READ THE LABEL BEFORE USING THE PRODUCT.

I have sensitive skin. I tried Nair when I was younger and it freaked me out too. I seriously thought I was going to melt or something.

You might want to consider other methods. Good luck.

It sounds like you got a chemical burn...sensitive skin + hair removal cream + time = burn.

Keep an eye on it, and don't do it for as long next time.
