Hey guys, I need some advice from other transmen. It seems like I can't catch a break with STP's. I'm on T now, stuffs changing, I'm having my top surgery before September. See i'm changing colleges and i'm really excited about my fresh completly 100% male start at a new school. Part of that 100% male experience though is going to be using the mens bathroom, most specifically, the urinal of course.

However no matter what I try I seem to be foiled at every turn. The frst STP I bought was the Fitz (nipple version). It didn't work for me worth a crap. I had so many backflow problems and issues I just gave up with it. I'd worked with it loads and not once used it without an accident. I put it away in my sock drawer and didn't look at it for a few months.

Then I got wanting to try something new so I went out, I hunted down a medicine spoon (so hard to find in the city >_<) I cut it down to size, I sanded it, I ordered in special medical grade tubing and I used silicon and I made my very own medicine spoon STP (re-using the Sailor packer that had been part of the Fitz). It didn't work. I couldn't get it to work either. I had accidents 9/10 times and it was just too hard. I ride horses and I really want to be comfortable wearing my stp without having a bit of plastic jammed into my pelvis every time my horse takes a step.

So again I sent the STP back to the sock drawer and it lived there for the past 7 months. Every morning taunting me when I got socks. 

So a few weeks ago I decided, I was going back to college with a fresh start and I was going to god-damn find an STP that worked and I was going to pee in a urinal dangnabit. So I did some more research and the only thing really left was the Go Girl. So today I made my way to the big hunting store in town, and after trying very hard to find it, did so and bought myself the Go Girl! I was so excited. I drank some extra water and was buzzing, wanting to try it out.

sigh.

Once again, leaking issues. Not as awful as the nipple was, but pretty much the same as the medical spoon. I really wanted this one to work. If the Go Girl worked I was going to order myself the Stand to Urimate and then I was going to be able to go riding thanks to the flexible nature of the funnel and I was going to be able to pee in a urinal like a man. 

I need some help. I've looked around this site at other people talking about the go girl, having success but I still can't figure it out. I have some questions that I was hoping someone who was actually successful with this could help me with.

1. How!? How do you use this thing? There are no clear instructions for it. (Going to be a bit more graphic here) do you put it between then labia major so it's snug right up against your bits? Or does it just rest against the outside?

2. How do you hold it? I'm having so much trouble holding this thing. I'm not super lean, I've got a bit of fluff, but certainly not enough that it should be so difficult! I find that when I try to hold it, and get it far enough back between my legs my wrist gets bent really oddly against my hip/pelvis and I have to do this awful hunch forward thing in order to support it properly... All the pictures are like this:

But what they seem to ignore is the fact that right where the diagrams wrist is, is a thigh blocking you from actually being able to hold it in that manner. Am I just holding it too far back? But if I bring it forward my streams not even going to be landing in the funnel....

I'm so confused as to how this works, and some guys use it with pants on? I can't even get it to work with all my clothes off, standing in the shower, hunched over like some awful bathroom troll 
Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I want to be able to use the men's bathroom so badly... Nothing ruins the "I am a man!" image at a new school like slinking away to the stall with your feet pointing the wrong way because I've got no means to do it in the correct direction...

I have a myriad of STPs. The Whiz Freedom, the Go Girl (which, you cannot hold that way), medicine spoon, nipple style, and the peecock. I've gone through 'em all. Honestly, it's worth your time mastering the medicine spoon. I thought, woah, I'm too overweight, when I pee normally the stream goes all over the place, how the heck am I going to use this thing? Well, all I do is slide it frontwards to back, tight to my skin, and place it right around my lady parts opening. I find that my urethra is situated properly for this and I've never had a leak once (not even the first time!) as long as I pressed it tight, tight, tight. I can understand the riding horse bit, but there is softer tubing out there that you can kind of maneuver so it doesn't sit under you (I always push mine up in front if it's bothersome.)

If you are still intent on using the gogirl, I always hold it so that my hand is on top of it, and I can slide it between my legs. My fingers splay so that my index finger is on one side with my thumb, and the rest of the fingers are on the other, then I just pressed it tight to my parts and go. I still get leakage, but if you sort of tilt it towards you should be okay for the most part.

You should try the pstyle. I'm going to sound like a broken record at this point but it really works and you don't have to fuss with your own anatomy at all. I've never had any leakage or accidents with it. And you don't have to "hold back" on your stream at all. You can just let it rip. The only problem is that it is large and hard to conceal. Right now it's winter and I can conceal it easily enough in a zippered coat pocket. Don't know what I'll do in warmer weather when I'm not wearing as many layers. But I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I now use it at urinals as long as there are dividers. It is an awesome feeling. Despite how big it is, you get the hang of using it real quick and it's easy to be discreet even while you're using it. Your hand/shirt can easily cover it up. Even if it won't be your permanent STP it's a great way to get the hang of looking natural and getting a feel for the way it all works.

You know to say I never had any luck with the medical spoon is a slight lie. I had luck when it was just the spoon, but it seems the second I got a packer involved everything fell apart. Thank to the huge scavenger hunt I did way back then I do know when to but these now, so maybe i'll go pick up a full one and have another go at it. I really wish the GoGirl had worked >< (have tried twice more since the OP and still no luck)

I've seen the pstyle before. My only issue is of course concealment. Right now I wear dress shirts and vests with dress pants as my 'going outside wear', and once I get my chest surgery I intend to wear such things pretty much non-stop lol (i've spent years covering myself up with bulky sweaters, NO MORE I say!) Though, as an artist with experience in casting things (in case the bit about me making my own stp didn't clue that lol) I wonder if there isn't a way to mod a pstyle by thinning out the drain part and fitting some tubing around it (to compensate for the lack of 'siding') and make it therefore a bit smaller and also more flexible.... ooo of we could cast it in a firmish silicon so it could be folded up..... it's made of a hard plastic right?

Anyways that's an artistic adventure for another time I think x) I'll definitely keep the pstyle in mind. I'll see if giving the medical spoon another chance makes any difference first.

So disappointed with the GoGirl though... you should have seen me in that hunting store searching for my STP device! I would have made all the ftm's out there proud lol XD Like hunting a deer in a forest I tell you! (you know how small they are? The store had ONE in stock, in an undisclosed corner of a store that is two stories high and as dense as walmart. I felt like god when I found it.)

Im with Seb. The medicine spoon takes practice but it works.
Also, you don't necessarily need a packer to use a medicine spoon at the urinal. I use a plain clear medicine spoon (no packer) at urinals and its long enough to clear my pants but short enough i can just cover my hand around it. It's fine as long as theres dividers, and when theres not i just use the stall. Just a suggestion.

I got my medicine spoon style packer from a little shop in my area called the Tool Shed but they do have a very extensive online store that many people purchase their products from (toolshedtoys). They just talked to me and said they got the better tubing again (they had some shoddy tubing before) and for complaining they sent me a free packer. I can attest that it works wonderfully, so I'd recommend them!

Just remembered the Snee-Kee too. It's like a medicine spoon with a much bigger "mouth" and when folded is virtually paper-thin. I don't have one but I am kind of intrigued, and might eventually try it. http://pee-zees.tripod.com/id17.html

I like the better portability of a medicine spoon but you have to place it exactly right every single time. You have to hone in on that specific part of your anatomy and be damn sure you know just where it is. And then you still have to hold back on the flow. The snee-kee seems to solve both of those problems.

Pstyle is pretty fool proof (might take a try or two) very little messing with your anatomy. It is HUGE though. ALthough I believe nobody would know what it is. I've heard people using it and getting the hang of STP and going back and using other things.

I have heard good things about the Snee-kee. No personal experience though.

Hey guys! Thanks for all the alternatives. They've been very helpful. After Seb's post last night I decided to try out the medical spoon again (only I used the medical spoon + tubing from my stp packer) and i've had great success! I haven't had a single accident, and I've event tried it now with pj pants on. I feel much better now =) I will keep practicing before I try putting it back together with the packer again.

All your suggestions were great. I haven't even heard of some of those things. For me though being able to eventually turn it into a packer as well is important so things like the Pee Zee and Snee Kee wouldn't work very well unless I modified them.

I have a somewhat related to my OP question for the men in the room,
How close do you stand to the urinal? Also, how far apart do you stance your feet? Kind of odd questions I know, I just don't want to bugger it up the first time I actually do do it =)

I guess it really doesn't matter. I've seen guys cram themselves up against the urinals, and others stand further away than that. It's intuitive once you actually step up to one IMO, kinda hard to explain otherwise. I guess feet are shoulder width apart or thereabouts. A wide stance won't look weird. Guys tend to take wider stances when standing in general. But whatever works and gets the job done. Honestly if you're standing at a urinal that's going to be the last place someone would question you. Guys don't want to pay attention to other guys in the bathroom. Single-person men's bathrooms sometimes have urinals in them and that would be a great place to practice, because the door locks and you don't have to worry about being seen or even being discreet. Gas stations commonly have these.

Just updating, I've been using the medical spoon method since my OP. I have had pretty great success with it, only a couple spills, one early in the morning when I thought "I'm going to be daring and try this half asleep with a full bladder!" it didn't go over very well lol, and the other accident was right after this since I had 'lost the spot'. I've, as of today, put the medical spoon and tubing back into my packer so I'm going to start trying to use the stp packer now in hoped that I have similar success before upgrading to underwear and then to jeans x)

Probably going to end up buying from the Tool Shed as I've ordered from them before, or I'll use DJ Knows Dicks, haven't decided which yet, but I feel I need a new stp packer for more dependability now that I know what kind is going to work for me.

As for your suggestion tvc15, about using private rooms at first to get used to it, that is a great idea, I hadn't thought of this, thank you! I will definitely do that the first few times (especially in case something goes array).

well i was thinking since you're good at molding and making things you could make a softer medicine-spoon type stp using a material like silicone or something. that's what i want to do, that way you can keep it down there without it hurting.

I might made that a project at some point. I've got some silicon laying around so It would just be a matter of finding time x)

In the meantime though the medicine spoon seems to be working pretty well. (Warning, TMI ahead lol) I wore it out riding because I wanted to see how comfy it was and it actually didn't bug me as much as I figured it would. I also got to pee on a tree lol, which is just one more 'guy thing' to check off the ye ol' list aha. It seems to be going well. I've only had a few issues, usually when i'm not paying enough attention, since it does require a pretty spot-on placement but for the most part I get it right, I assume i'll get it 100% with more practice. It's going well though, which is fantastic. I'll probably pick up a new packer at some point as soon as I find someone who ships to Canada for reasonable (I'm waiting for Stand to Urimate to get the medicine spoon style back in stock since they ship for free).
