So in the last month I say I've been approached  by 5 different associates (who I have not told yet)  '( heard it from some one else) and ask me if I prefer them to call me by me my new female name or my old male one. I tell them I prefer the new female one my preferred one. And all of them  have responded with ok and started using my prefers name

I wish this was the case for me, everyone knows that I'm trans, but most people still call me by my old name  :(

hayley (is it?), why dont you be up-front about it in that case? sometimes someone in class misgenders me, and i just casually let them know/correct them, and it has worked out pretty well. sometimes they'll ask a question or i'll realize they were misinformed/confused about my status so i explain it to them. people who are distant enough like colleagues or classmates usually seem pretty reasonable (as you can see through kelly's example?)
congrats kelly! it feels great doesnt it?

Yes it does fell great.
And hayle let people know what you prefer to be called and also give them time to get use to calling you buy your preferred name. And when they call you by your old name kindly remind them  that not your name anymore

I would remind people more often, but I'm quite a shy person, and I almost never stand up for myself.
