I remember in grade school the many government films we were shown (I don't think they do this any longer, this was from '68 to '74 for me, ya I'm old). I remember one I saw in fourth grade, it was so extreme. It was about how we citizens were so wasteful of natural resources that clean water would be so scarce in a few decades, we'd all be living under the sea in little glass bubbles. I kid you not! I think they gave up on indoctrination videos and moved it all into the curriculum? My daughter brought home her report on global warming not long ago and all I could think is things haven't changed all that much. Fear, guilt, class envy, etc., etc., much like religion, it's all designed to control the masses. I'm not hopeful this cycle can every be stopped though.

wow, global warming huh? what I say to that argument...

what is the unpredictable thing we experience as people? the weather... the weather man can't be trusted...

now we have a gov yelling at us telling us WE caused weather to change?! how narcissistic of people? is it possible we have changed weather? maybe... but even if we did... what the F do you want us to do about it? stop driving cars? I mean, don't use guilt to control others! ugh, I bet they win though and get a carbon tax... that would make gov so much bigger and so much more dangerous :-(

it's a battle for our consciousness... left or right... both lead to tyranny and authoritarianism

although Rand Paul had a good interview yesterday and mentioned his audit the fed bill :-)

You don't really need the stuff in the classroom anymore with so many people glued to the tv. I remember growing up almost every movie was about the Russians coming to kill us all. Now they're about the Middle East. 1984. True story.

A couple of right on videos oZma, good job whomp, whomp Girl!

The Cold War was an illusion created by two superpowers holding global thermonuclear war like a bludgeon over all of the other nations which served to control them. There is always an antagonist and a protagonist that work their control over the minds of humankind just like the good cop, bad cop model seen on television cop shows. The two party system in the US operates in the same manner, as we can clearly see, nothing good will come of it and it will cave in and go into the dustbin of history quite suddenly. Get ready for a smackdown!

Suffice it to say that not many people have all the answers by the time they are eighteen. Rather than continually contend against those things that are historic and time proven it might be better to weigh the evidence rather than just swallow the cool aid presented by the national media. It might just be the smart thing to do! Still waters run deep and babbling brooks are always very shallow.

None of us are earning our keep. We're spending the money of future generations... our children and their children. This isn't a taxing problem, it's a spending problem. Even if you took 100% of the wealthiest American's income, it would run the government for a few months! We don't have the money for our current spending, it's not there.

I do not feel I have to right or knowledge to say whether or not someone making 23 million dollars a year deserves it or can do with less. It is not any of my business! If you take more of their earnings, they generally fire employees. How'd that work out for the employees?

I'm not trying to be mean with this statement, but I don't think a person can be happy while resenting or envying others. I know they can't be happy when they're happy others are punished. It seems you want to tell others what to do and what they should have, I want people to be free to do as they please and allow me the same.

Absolutely right on the mark! Envy was the base cause of why Cain murdered his brother Able and is the tool used by this government to create division, distrust and a malevolent spirit which inevitably will end in the destruction of unity and possibly the nation.

3. What exactly are you referring to being historically proven? It's been proven that weak central govt = chaos. It's also proven that an excessively powerful central govt is bad, too. The US is in the middle. The Articles of Confederation had a weak central govt, and that system failed. China has an excessively strong central govt, and we all know that that doesn't work. It seems that history is on my side.

Good point, one would have never known that you understood this because you come across in a contentious manner at times and show little respect or consideration for what others think who have been on planet earth a lot longer and have more real lived experience. I'm not being mean to you and am the last person that would insult you, I would just hope that it would work both ways.

Then again, I shouldn't argue with someone who talks about scripture in a political debate. Religion is the real problem.

Whether it's true or not or scripture or BS, that isn't the point, it has long been an established an example of human behavior and as I point out envy is destroying the country.

While I'm not particularly interested in your enslavement, it does strike me as particularly rude to discuss what you perceive to be the shortcomings of a member of this board in an open forum.

Here's what I think: we arrived at our lovable dogs through selective breeding, on down from the wolf - choosing to breed those animals that didn't seem particularly inclined to bite us... I wonder if the human race would benefit from such a breeding program?

Sadie out.
I ain't scared... I just don't want to mess up my hair.
