Hey Everyone,

I've lurked here for a little under a year and have posted only a few times. Nonetheless, your words, stories and insights have helped me get to the place where I am today. Last Wednesday, at the age of 26 (almost 27) I began HRT, a starter dose (seemingly half of normal) of both E and S under the care of an MD and a shrink. I couldn't be more excited! :)

Anyway, I've seen a million different topics on what was felt first and how much or how little, but I still want to know what you all went through that first week or so! So far, I have noticed very little. Maybe, maybe, my chest is a little sore, as if I've been weightlifting or something. It feels muscular. I have noticed I have had some trouble sleeping, but this may be excitement and or placebo-type effects on both fronts. When should I expect my nipples to "pop" as they say? Is there any advice you experienced ladies could offer me?

Lonely, Midwestern-transition-er over and out!

Regards and love,

W.

The first thing I noticed was my mood improved greatly. But other than that I can't say anything significant happened in the first week.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Lol  ;D My very own!! Thank you soooo. Do you girls have any advice, I'm kinda nervous and alone, though under supervision, and would love someone or some people to talk about the upcoming world I'm stepping into. I know its going to be a rough, wild and beautiful ride. What do you ladies think I'm forgetting when it comes to hormones, what may I be forgetting?

Don't be in a rush.  Just as young girls it takes time.  They go through puberty for 5 years or better.

Your words mean so much to me. I've been telling myself not to rush for my entire life :), so I appreciate the reminder! I guess I will take it easy and report weekly about my changes. I hope that is not against any rules, please let me know if it is! Oh and I heard breast pumping could be good even at this early stage. Is this true? <3

On not rushing, I have to tell my roommate to be patient all the time. She thinks she's supposed to be a B cup with no muscle tone 3 months in. It drives me nuts listening to her worry so much about it when she's only 3 months in!!!
To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.
