The name is a misnomer.  Hermit crabs are far from hermit-like.  You have to keep at least two crabs together because they're social creatures.  If you keep only one, it's cruelty.  It's also cruelty to keep them in those plastic tanks you get at stores and to put pebbles in the tank.  People often take poor care of their hermit crabs because they don't either don't realize that the stuff that the kiosks and stores like Surf Shop sell you is actually bad for the crabs or they view them as a throw away pet that only lives a couple of months [they can live upwards of 30 years if cared for properly]/

Sorry! I just get going in regards to hermit crabs. XD

I know, I'm just crazy.   We have a lot of fiddler crabs here, they're pretty neat, kind of like a crab version of hellboy.

I just did not give a crap today.

I don't usually dress up super fancy since I'm self-conscious, but I wear something decent...today though, I just threw on a binder, big black hoodie, and jeans, shoved a bunch of crap in my backpack hoping to God I had everything and headed out. I also had the mindset that I wasn't out to impress anyone. Oddly enough I felt a lot better for it. I've had a lot of anxiety lately, for reasons I can't entirely explain, but it felt like I just sort of threw away that entire mindset for once.

I also forgot quizzes at home, so when the class ended, I BOLTED before students could approach me. Lol. Saw my friend afterwards and she said "you really are a guy. You are so full of s*. And somehow you manage to get away with it too."

When I think about it, basically my entire life I have gotten away with things that girls can't but guys can. Even when I was trying to be the perfect little girl, there were a lot of days I just threw on something random and baggy, no makeup, no hair done, pretty much a hot mess and never got a hassle for it. It was only when people thought I was a lesbian that it came back to haunt me. And I do get away with a lot of BS...again, something all the guys around me do a lot but the girls don't because they would get hassled.

Not that you have to be a guy to do any of the things I just described. I just noticed that considering how much crap I do I got away relatively unscathed.

Get any response from Washington State so far?

I don't like it when people disregard what I have to say due to my age. I was talking about how you don't need a credit card to build a good credit score, and everyone scoffed at me simply because a 40-year-old English teacher said she disagreed with me. Guess what, everybody, my ECONOMICS teacher with a degree in ECONOMICS agrees with me.  :P

Yeah, I have met a lot of older people who, honestly, I am amazed are even alive at this point due to their lack of thinking.

I cannot WAAAAAIT to have this house to myself this weekend.

Diana's right, you don't need a credit card to build a credit rating.

Don't be rude to Diana, she may be the EMT that responds when you're having a heart attack!  >:-)

No, not yet.  I'd love for that job because I need to get the hell out of my parents' house.  My mom is pitching a fit because I don't want to teach.  I talked to her about this in October/November and she said "Oh, it's not a waste of time or money.  I'm not upset because you learned you didn't want to do something."  Now she's yelling that she's "angry" and feels "short-changed" because I don't want to teach.  I'm so ->-bleeped-<-ing pissed off right now and upset and a general mess.  If I had money, I would have gone to a hotel for the night.

Come to think of it I was meaning to ask you how they were about the letter? You can pm me if that's uncomfortable for you.

They said they were okay and they asked to keep it.  There wasn't much other indications to go off of and I'm not inclined to ask in the near future.  >.>; I'm much more inclined to stay up in my room and only come out when my mom's not around.

Ok honey good luck then! My gut feeling is that it was something they had been expecting all along, your letter was just a confirmation.
Good job though, I'm proud of you!

Thanks. :)  I wish they acted like it was something they had been expecting, but apparently not because I never reported any feelings of wishing to be the opposite sex as a kid, never showed discomfort in dressing rather femininely in high school, chased guys, etc.  Ugh...But I can deal with that.

Now if I can get her to leave me the hell alone about my choice in job.

My parents kept a very angry letter I wrote them as a teen. I found it like 5 years later in their safe box when I was snooping. My brother and I burned it ASAP. I still have no idea why they kept it...

o.O I don't know why they'd do that.
