I think Sigur Ros changed my life, they're what really got me into the "I am going to have an awesome day today" thing that I do. I used to listen to them every morning, and that'd just set the tone of happiness for my day, and I'd never let anything bother me.

Life is great.  ;D

I love Sigur Ros. I saw them live in 2006 when they toured for "Takk..."

The Who changed my life. I was raised on the Beatles, but when I discovered The Who at age 13 I had never heard anything like them before. They've been my favorite band ever since, and have led me on an awesome musical journey. My best friend caught their Quadrophenia tour a couple months ago and I was so jealous. He admitted he started sobbing when they showed an old clip of Keith Moon drumming... hell, I don't blame him. Reminds me of the time I saw Bob Dylan in 2008 and the guy next to me was crying so hard while his girlfriend was just like "Welp..." :D
I saw both Tommy and Quadrophenia. Not gonna lie, I cried at both of those concerts. I've never seen Dylan, but my grandpa's a big fan and I like some songs. Maybe someday I'll see him live too.

I will totally back you up about one direction and gangnam style :D

My latest music obsession is Adam Lambert, he was on pop idol or x-factor or something of the sort...I didn't watch it, I just heard a song ages later and found out he was a reality TV show guy. His songs are so catchy and he has a beautiful voice. I love that he is gay and writes songs that reflect that....not in an in your face political message sort of way, just that he uses "he" instead of "she" in his love songs. A lot of gay artists don't do that, and it always bugged me.

What happened to me ::) I was a metal head in my youth

I <3 you, man.  I adore Adam Lambert! He's really awesome.  Simon Curtis is also supposedly gay and if you listen to his lyrics, it's quite obvious that he is or at least playing tot hat crowd. ["Flesh", one of my favorites, pretty much describes gay sex.]   There's nothing all that political about from what I can see.

Anyway, '80s hair bands often make me feel better.  "18 and Life" by Skid Row is a favorite and other Skid Row songs.  "Cherry Pie" by Warrant, "Unskinny Bop" by Poison (and anything by them really...I <3 Poison).  Pretty Boy Floyd definitely rocks so does Faster Pussycat and Cinderella...I could probably go on and on about the bands that make me feel better.

Haha another old man raised on the Beatles. :)
Also love the Who. And strangely discovered who Sigur Ross was an that weird but lovely music video. Icelandic I think? I've seen rather funny translation videos for this.

I went through my obligatory Beatles-obsessed phase in my early teens - still like them, though prefer John Lennon's solo stuff :)

I'm totally, TOTALLY obsessed with Blues now, though!  :) The early Delta stuff recorded by Lomax - Ledbelly, Son House, Muddy Waters' early stuff, and also Chicago Blues - Howlin' Wolf's one of my favourites (and his oft-overlooked guitarist Hubert Sumlin).  I also adore Dr. John and James Booker - just been learning more about the life & times of James Booker - omg, he was amazing.  A Classically trained pianist who applied all of those skills to his Blues playing - some of the stuff he does, apparently concert pianists have said they couldn't do.  His song 'Let Them Talk' is such an appropriate gay/trans anthem, too, lol - I didn't even know that he was gay until I read Dr. John's autobiography.  And I always thought his eye patch was an affectation, lol, but it turns out that he really did lose an eye.  I should stop rambling.  I should also stop gambling.  I should stop staying out late at night - go home to my wife and family and sit by the fireside bright :)

xD I know!  It's irritating.  I'm like "...that guy...from American Idol?..with the sexy hair.?  Gah!" xD

I love that one. XD "Fell in Love with an Android" has a good line in it and is pleasant...A lot of the songs on 8Bit Heart seem to be geared towards sex.  R∆ doesn't have quite as sexy songs minus "Flesh", but they're all enjoyable. ^^

His look reminds me of Bill Kaulitz (tokio hotel) who I also love. He's like a more masculine version of Bill :P My style icons for sure.

...Marry me?  :icon_bunch:

I love Bill Kaulitz.  I have every CD by Tokio Hotel on my computer.  x3  I fell in love about 7 years back when a song by them came on the international music channel.  I was like "...goddamn...I want him." then "I love his style. T.T I wish I could wear it."

I know right! I would give anything to be able to pull off a look like that, I'm much too short and stocky...look ridiculous in skinny jeans and tight leather :P I don't even know how Bill does his hair, it defys gravity :D

This sounds a lot like me.  The Who and Led Zeppelin were my gateway bands.

You would get on so well with my partner.  He loves 80's hair metal and he's obsessed with Poison.  Me, I like it, but I'm more into the visual aspect, if you know what I mean.  ;)

-cough- Sebastian Bach -cough- >.>  I love how they look. xD But the music is also fun, usually. ^^ Nothing better than singing a song about sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll to make you feel better. xD
