I've been using dermablend and it seems to be working so far but my face gets kind of shiny and that looks yuck, how to get the shine off without losing the cover-up (i tried power but my power's are too light and i have no money).
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain, I like watchin' the puddles gather rain.

I *think* Dermablend now makes a matte finish foundation, which won't result in any of the shininess.

Have you considered using BB cream instead of Dermablend, which I always feel is pretty thick and yucky(!)? They made to camouflage blemishes and imperfections, and usually come in varieties which may compliment your skin tone.

Are you using the setting powder from Dermablend?  I use it and have no shine.

Dermablend has their own "setting powder"   i noticed the sane thing that the dermablend it self does seem to have a little shine to it, however after the powder is applied it's gone.

Powder prevents the shiny look
"For transpeople, using the right pronoun is NOT simply a 'political correctness' issue. It's core to the entire struggle transpeople go through. Using the wrong pronoun means 'I don't recognize you as who you are.' It means 'I think you're confused, delusional, or mentally I'll.'. It means 'you're not important enough for me to acknowledge your struggle.'"

One tip is a finishing powder... I know ELF makes some and it's 6 dollars , that takes the shine away, as well as MAC & theirs is about 20 , you can also use store bought make dewy removers.... I always user tissue paper or a napkin if I'm out of my MAC spray
