So. This game has been sucking me in on and off for over a year now!

A friend bought me a copy when it was in Alpha, I didn't think I'd like it much. Truth be told, the first time I played it, I didn't. But, I played one more time, and then I was hooked.

And now, I'm playing on a server with 60 other people... Yeah.

Anyone else addicted to MC?

I dunno about addicted, but I have played it quite a bit, and I will continue doing so. It's very fun, especially with redstone things.

I have been playing Minecraft since spring. I have avoided on-line games because  was afraid they would take all my free time. I was right! I started playing in single player mode then in October I took the plunge and tried it online. Ooops. BIG mistake! There's usually about 60 people on this server too (Noobscraft is its name-that's why I tried it first).  Addicted? Most likely. gottamine gottamineBut I am trying to beat it. It is like Legos -I always loved those. I am trying to find a plain Lego set for my kids, but the sets are either to small or way to bi (=expensive)

I own a simi professional Tekkit Minecraft server :D  you should come :D
It's the most common mod pack. No don't worry a out mods!  I see you worrying.  you don't install or do anything really.  Just use this
www.technicpack.net/tekkit/
Instead of the normal minecraft.exe  and pick Tekkit on the drop down menu.

The server is
tekkit-bluebox.boards.net/index.cgi

^_^; I think my avatar just reshows my addiction to this now... Heh. THough I'm more of a explorer than a builder. I'll build a small shack or nowadays take a small cave for a house. I'm a dragon gal in MC it's what we do :)

I love minecraft. Out of my guy friends I normally hang out with, I'm the only one who plays almost non stop. By non stop I mean by I haven't taken any long breaks from minecraft to play other games. I'm both a builder and an explorer. Mainly play singleplayer. My friends have a server I jump on when they are on.

I'm just getting back into MC with the 1.4.6 update. It's sad that most of the mods I like are still not yet able to work with it, but at least optifine works with 1.4.6 without fail. :)

Labels are for clothes and towels and making sure you don't leave your luggage at the airport. You dont call clothing a "calvin", its still a pair of jeans. A person is a person. They can be white or black or foreign or straight or gay or in a wheelchair, yet they are still a human being.

I like starting new worlds in minecraft because I feel the end game is really dull. Once you've got a farm up and a stable food supply, diamond equipment and all that stuff, there isn't really anything to do anymore. Sure there's the end realm but I don't want to complete the game so much as simply try to survive in it. Eventually it gets too easy and you don't have to mine or craft anymore =P

At this point, I don't play it much at all unless with friends =P

You should try Tekkit. All that you mentioned is just the barest of beginnings. The tekkit mod pack is about industrialization and automation. The challenge is eficiency. That I've not finished.  I have torn down whole industrial complexes in order to rebuild with a more eficient design.

I play mainly to build things. Mods look interesting but I don't feel like investing time in getting them to run. I do like to mess with current snapshots, though. I have one fairly hugely explored map that I've been expanding development on (building up a fairly huge town of 200+ testificates) for a very long time... though with the new redstone expansion coming, I'm a bit conflicted in that I've explored so much of the nether, I'm going to have a very hard time collecting quartz in that particular map unless I go off to some as yet unexplored region, which is a slog at this point, even using my fairly extensive network of nether portals.

I'd be interested to see what a server is like (I've avoided them so far) but not really keen on installing mods to do that.

I had been watching yogscast play tekkit for a while now. It looks like a lot of fun but I would really like it if mojang added some more mid-game stuff to challenge players =)

It took me a while go get into it, but then I was hooked, now I go for a few weeks without playing it, and then I'll be up all night on my server, building all sorts of new things, or just mining for hours and hours.
