4) Middle name meaning: Painted Warrior
5) Both English/Scottish names
6) I needed a name that was English , Scottish or Irish because i'm Irish with red hair and a non European name wouldn't fit me
7) Masculine ( both )
8) I saw a baby picture on one of the websites that shows kids with the name you chose and a red headed , blue eyed boy had the name Landen , so that helped my final decision , because i have red hair and blue eyes. so it must work. Plus it sonds tough :)
9) its not common in the USA or at least doesn't have a high rating, unique . There is other spelling variations : Landen, Landon, Landin....Scot , Scott, Scotty..etc

What does your name mean? It is unknown.

Where is it derived from? Probably Darrell.

How did you choose it? It was awesome and I liked it so I chose it.

What influenced your decision, if any? The 1960's TV show Bewitched.

Is it a common name where you're from? I don't think so.

What is your name? Victor
What is your middle name ? ( if there is one ) Robyn
What does your name mean? victor, Robyn means "bright fame"
Where is it derived from? victor, Robert
How did you choose it? Victor was suggested to me and I chose it because it means victor and it is also the name of Dr. Doom and Dr. Frankenstein. (Mostly because it means victor.) I like the meaning of Robyn and it also the name of Robin Goodfellow. I don't like Robyn as a first name though.
Is it masculine, feminine, or unisex? Victor is masculine, Robyn is technically unisex (not that anyone knows that)
What influenced your decision, if any? I wasn't going to change my name, but then I remembered I had a middle name I hate. I figured since I had to change my middle name anyway, I'd change my first instead and make my first name my middle name.
Is it a common name where you're from? Not too common, but not unheard of.

What is your name?
Lauri

What is your middle name ? ( if there is one )
Johannes

What does your name mean?
Lauri is a Finnish form of the Latin name Laurentius which means "wreathed in laurels" (according to Wikipedia).
Johannes is the Latin form of the English name John and it's derived from Hebrew Yehochanan.

Where is it derived from?
Whoops, answered already. ;D

How did you choose it?
Lauri is the masculine form of my previous name and Johannes was my grandfather's middle name, too.
I chose Lauri because I wanted to have my first name starting with L and there really aren't that many male names in Finnish with that initial plus it felt like my own.
Johannes has more meaning behind it. My grandfather was called Jussi because of Johannes being his middle name and Mom told me she would've named me Jussi had I been born physically male.

Is it masculine, feminine, or unisex?
Both are masculine names in Finland.

What influenced your decision, if any?
Nothing really. I chose the names I wanted and sounded good with my last name.

Is it a common name where you're from?
Both are common male names in Finland, especially Johannes is very popular.

What is your name?
Alexander (Alex)
What is your middle name ? (if there is one)
Luke
What does your name mean?
Alexander: "defender of man"
Luke: "light"
But they're not really important factors to me.  Personally the fact that Alexander begins with an 'A' is important to me as it symbolises a new beginning as the start of the alphabet, my birthname began with 'Z' and I ended that.
Where is it derived from?
Both first and last name are from Greek, it's just a co-incidence.
How did you choose it?
I wanted a first name beginning with 'A', and remembered that I had tried to get people to call me Alex when I was younger, before I realised that I was trans and didn't need just a unisex name.  Luke is also something that I wanted people to call me, but when I was even younger.
Is it masculine, feminine, or unisex?
Written in full it's male, but when it's shortened to 'Alex' then it's unisex, although more common in men.
What influenced your decision, if any?
I didn't want to go by the original name, Adam, because my ex chose it for me.  Even when I got over that I was still drawn to Alex more as I'd been a little disappointed they didn't like it.  My thinking about wanting something beginning with 'A' also helped, as did wanting something that could be shortened -- my birthname is very short.  Also I wanted a middle name because I'd not had one before.
Is it a common name where you're from?
It's in the top ten for my birth year in the U.K. so I'd say so, it's also fairly common with slightly older people too, but not old fashioned, which suits me great, I struggle with people my own age.

Funny that this topic came up today as my girlfriend called me Alex for the first time today.  I'd never pushed it because to me it's just a label, and I don't want to push things too quickly and lose her, so as long as she doesn't use female pronouns I'm fine with it, and I think my birthname has only left her lips once, followed by an apology, since she found out at Christmas. Earlier in the week I noticed that she'd changed my name in her phone to 'Alex' and I told her that it made me proud because it shows that she's accepted me and changing how she sees things, not that there was ever a problem, and that it made me really happy.  Today she used it in conversation for the first time, which felt brilliant.  It's the first time in over a year that someone's used a male name to me in person and not over the phone, and even that's only happened once or twice since I changed to Alex.

What is your name? Max (still deciding, either short for Maxwell or Maximilian)
What is your middle name ? ( if there is one ) Might keep my old one (Tyler), if not then not sure right now. If I change it, Dmitri is kind of cool especially considering my birthday is its name day in a few countries. Damien is also a possibility.
What does your name mean? Max means "great" or "greatest", also from "Magnus". Dmitri is "Earth-Mother" (Mother is a cool game series), Damien "to tame" or "spirited", and Tyler is "tile-worker".
Where is it derived from?
Max: German, Latin.
Dmitri: Slavic.
Damien: derived from the Greek "Damian".
Tyler: Old English.
How did you choose it? I didn't really choose it. I was looking through name lists and not really finding anything that stood out and meant something special, until it jumped out at me. I hadn't really thought about it because I didn't want a "common" name, but then I remembered the innate jealousy I had always had over kids named Max, including a friend of my boyfriend's because her name could shorten to Max.
Is it masculine, feminine, or unisex? The nickname is unisex, but I don't think I've ever heard of a girl named Maximilian or Maxwell  :P
What influenced your decision, if any? I really like Where the Wild Things Are :3
Is it a common name where you're from? Yeah, it's a common name.

What is your name? Vinnie

What is your middle name ? Lynn (what I was born with; its my dad's first name)

What does your name mean? "prevailing"

Where is it derived from? The name Vincent

How did you choose it? Freshman year of high school, when I came out to my friend Ray, she told me to pick a "boy name" and i picked it in a hurry because I really liked the name Vincent. She proceeded to nickname me Vinnie and it's stuck ever since.

Is it masculine, feminine, or unisex? Masculine

What influenced your decision, if any? I just really like that name

Is it a common name where you're from? Not really. I've met one other Vincent, and the only Vinny I know is from Jersey Shore (lol)

Simon

What is your name? Simon
What is your middle name ? Vincent
What does your name mean? Never bothered to look.

What is your name? Raphael
What is your middle name ? ( if there is one ) Still undecided. I've never had one so this is unknown territory XP.
What does your name mean? Angry, adolescent turtle trained in advanced martial arts.
Where is it derived from? Italy
How did you choose it? It chose me? xD
Is it masculine, feminine, or unisex? I've yet to meet a woman named Raphael :'P.
What influenced your decision, if any? If I get to choose my name, I might as well go with something I'm passionate about xD.
Is it a common name where you're from? You'll see quite a few Latino men with the same name, but most spell it with "f" instead of "ph". I refuse to go with the "f" because my legal name starts with it, and because I must match the Ninja Turtle! @_@

CursedFireDean

What is your name?- well, it's going to be Robert Dean [last name] but I'll go by Dean

What is your middle name ? ( if there is one ) Dean

What does your name mean? Valley or Leader of Ten People

Where is it derived from? England, derived from the surname

How did you choose it? Robert- my name if I were born a boy, also my father's name, Dean- a family name on my mother's side, it was the name of her brother who got injured as a young child and died because of it in his late teens so I chose it for him, as well as it was the name of my mom's father, who was a great guy and has also passed. My parents, if I were born a boy, would have named me Robert Dean, and I really connected to their reasons for it.

Is it masculine, feminine, or unisex? Masculine

What influenced your decision, if any? My mom certainly influenced it when she told me what I would have been named. Once I heard stories about the two men close to her named Dean, I knew I'd prefer to go by that. (Plus it also makes me think of Dean Winchester XD)

Is it a common name where you're from? Not common, not uncommon.

What is your name? : Shane

What is your middle name?: Jesse

What does your name mean? God is gracious (I'm not even religious :P )

Where is it derived from?: Ireland

How did you choose it?: When my stepsister was looking through baby names she was going to name her child Shane if it was a boy (ended up being a girl) and it always stuck with me, when I was a teen I'd use it as my name on forums

Is it masculine, feminine or unisex?: Masculine

What influenced your decision, if any?: I'd originally thought I would keep my given unisex name (Jessi) but I felt like it was too associated with my life as a girl. So I gave myself my name and kept my given name as my middle (with a more masculine spelling)

Is it a common name where you're from? I've only met one other Shane before, but the internet says it's pretty popular  :P

How did you choose it? I loved the little boy's name in "Kindergarten cop" and I wanted that name for myself.

Dmitri is "Earth-Mother" (Mother is a cool game series)

Dude... you like Mother? That's my favorite video game series... Earthbound was the first game I ever saw anyone play.

What is your name? Cory
What does your name mean? Every website I look at says something different. "Ravine" in Gaelic, "Hollow" in Irish, "Seething pool" in Scottish, "Chosen" in Old English, "God's peace" in English, "Horn" in French, translated from the word "cornell", or derived from the French word for "Heart." Needless to say, the actual meaning of the name doesn't hold any personal interest or meaning for me :p
How did you choose it? I was into the show Boy Meets World and had tried a few other male names on myself that didn't really feel right. I started calling myself Cory just because I needed something new and it felt right.
Is it masculine, feminine, or unisex? Unisex but more common in guys. I hate when people spell my name Cori or Kory or Kori
What influenced your decision, if any? I'd been going by the name since age 13. It was just the name I had to use. I feel a little funny now essentially naming myself after a TV character, but it's a believable name for someone my age to have, it fits pretty well with my sibling's names, and it sounds great when people use it to refer to me, even now.
Is it a common name where you're from? Decently common, yeah.

Mother has got to be the best game I've ever laid my grubby gaming fingers on. And yes, I cried before the end. But they were manly tears!

What is your name? Henry

What is your middle name ? ( if there is one ) David

What does your name mean? I have no idea, I think I looked it up once but I forgot

Where is it derived from? Probably old dead white people, and the Hebrews

How did you choose it? I am kind of weird and I think first names should be shorter than last names, so I needed something 6 letters or less. Nothing was sounding right, and then I saw my copy of "Walden" sitting around and I was just like "oh duh! so obvious!"

Is it masculine, feminine, or unisex? Musculine

What influenced your decision, if any? I like Henry David Thoreau

Is it a common name where you're from? David is common, Henry is probably common though I only know one Henry

What is your name? Brenton Lee

What is your middle name ? ( if there is one ) Ananiah

What does your name mean? Brenton: "From a surname which was derived from an English place name which meant "Bryni's town". Bryni was Old English name meaning "fire"." - according to Behindthename.com
Lee: "From a surname which was derived from Old English leah meaning "clearing". The surname belonged to Robert E. Lee (1807-1870), commander of the Confederate forces during the American Civil War. In his honour, it has been commonly used as a given name in the American South." - from behindthename.com
Ananiah: Unk.

Where is it derived from? Old English, and unknown

How did you choose it? Brenton was always one of my favorite names. And I love the name Lee, but several of my trans friends had it as their first name, so I used it as a part of my first name. "Anania" was someone I knew in highschool's last name, and I really liked it, so I adapted it into something of my own, by adding an "h" at the end and using it as my proposed middle name.

Is it masculine, feminine, or unisex? Brenton is masculine, Lee is unisex, and Ananiah sounds more masculine.

What influenced your decision, if any? MANY name changes. It took me about 6 different names before I found the perfect one.

Is it a common name where you're from? I've never seen it as "Brenton Lee", and I can't say I've ever met another Brenton, which I really like, so no, I don't think it's too common.
Included: 1 man. (Some assembly required)

Natkat

I dont really want to post my real name on Susans exept for privat chat and such thing.
I enjoy having a transcomunetys place where im actually pretty anonymyous for most people here and I try to keep it that way cause I feel its less stressfull and some how relaxing compared to be a wellknown person.

But I can still answer the other questions.

What does your name mean?
My name originally mean something like, "the price of your dignaty" or something? but in my languarge it means nothing.. exept when people pronouce it wrong then it gets alot of wierd sentence.

Where is it derived from?
England and my middle name is aciant roman, and my second middle name is danish.

How did you choose it?
I where writting alot of storys during the time, and one of my characters where one I had based alot on my self, from his look to part of his personalety, when I build him up and was unsure how he would react I just tried to ask myself how I would react and tried to dobble it up and make it abit more extreme.
as time pass I started using the name on the net, and when I where to pick a name I where standing between this name or another one from another character I had. in the end I choosed the first name cause it was Unisex and I could have it without sterilisation or permission of the goverment (cause they have strick laws for transexuals) but I had also been more used to that name so its pretty good I choosed it.

Is it masculine, feminine, or unisex?
its originally Unisex, but depending on how you pronouce it it can be both maculine or Unisex.

What influenced your decision, if any?
the fact that I where already starting to get used to it, and also the fact that it where unisex which ment I could choose it without alot of trouble, If it where a all male name as the other I had in mind, then I should either put it as a middle name and have a first name to use, or I should go thought alot of fuss to get permission from some people who didnt really wanted to have anything to do with me.

Is it a common name where you're from?

Not very common, but its not a forregian either.
