Just Ole Me

Why the heck can't I cross my legs like most cis women can? I have fairly wide hips.   I don't  start HRT until next month and wonder if my thigh and leg muscles will shrink to allow my legs to cross easier or what??

Thanks

Kay

Your junk?

Most likely.

I find it much easier and more natural when i'm tucked.

No, no, no! Do not pay attention to her, she does not know what she is talking about.

The reason is because the angle of insertion of the femur on cis female has a higher convergence than in cis-males, irrespective of how wide the pelvis is...so, this translate in an easy cross over dear

Also.... what kind of leg crossing are we talking about here?

No I'm pretty sure its the junk.

muuu: peky is known for being quite hard to understand, but I can hazard a guess here. Translation to normal language:

"The reason is that in cis-females, no matter the actual width of the pelvis, femurs are inserted in the pelvis with an angle towards the inside, compared to males."

In short, women naturally have their knees closer to each other, as well as the other end of the femur farther from the center of their body, so it's less effort to cross their legs.

As for me, I think one of the main factors for my difficulties in crossing my legs is that my legs' muscles are HUGE and get in the way, working in splendid teamwork with the fat there. Combine that to my sorta-wide-for-a-male-but-definitely-not-female hips, and there you have the difficulty already. And I suppose the thing about the femur's angle is true too.

Though unless you're super obese or have zero flexibility, crossing your legs relatively comfortably should be possible for everyone, even if you need to pull your leg over the other with your hands a little. Many guys do it. Just gotta make sure you don't put your genitalia just in the wrong spot, because obviously there might be a problem.

AllieM:

MaidOfOrleans: Seriously, I'm pretty sure one would notice right away if it were that, and not even ask. I mean, there's a huge difference between "ugh, it's hard to reach" and "eek, my junk is being squeezed!" Besides, junk-squeezing doesn't prevent anything physically, does it? It just makes it more painful, I guess. Dunno, I've never really managed to get hurt down there. Either mine are much less sensitive, either they're evasive to blows and squeezing. :p

Before learning how to tuck, there was no way I could cross my legs thigh-over-thigh. After tucking, I could, but could feel a squeeze on The Boys...after about a month on HRT it was effortless.

YMMV

Huh, ok well I can do that >.< I actually have never sat like a guy. I am always in some sort of ball, crossed leg, sitting on feet, etc position when im in a chair. Very rarely have i put my foot on my knee in the traditional guy pose.

The only sitting position i have a hard time with is sitting with my feet folded on my sides like this:

Flexibility definitely plays a part. When I was..fat.. I didn't have the flexibility that I do now having lost weight, exercise, and stretch.

I think most of it is flexibility. I can cross my legs and sit in a ball and out my legs to the side. Funny how the only position that hurts is the normal guy position with the foot on the knee. But then again when ever I sit down my legs just kinda naturally want to cross. To make it not look so bad I just cross them again so that foot with leg over goes behind the other leg ( which I also do get questioned on how I do that, funny how it is usually cis women that ask that.).

What everybody said is correct! No disagreements, there is just more than one factor.
1. Girls who have male style bone structure in the pelvis and hips, always have a tougher time with the knee over knee cross, because the tendons have to stretch more to achieve that angle.
2. Girls who have especially large junk, always have a tougher time with the knee over knee cross, because even a full tuck doesn't clear the way completely.
3. Girls who have larger than typical thighs muscles, always have a tougher time with the knee over knee cross because the muscle tissue gets in the way.
4. Girls who have more fat in the thigh area, always have a tougher time with the knee over knee cross, because the chub gets in the way.

I used to suffer from all four. I cross comfortably now. What changed?
1. Still have the same bones, but I practiced without pushing it, and over time I got more flexible there. Stretch...
2. Thank you shrinkage! Thank you very much.
3. Being off of T shrunk my thigh muscles to the velociraptor size typical of girls in my family, instead of the T-rex size typical of boys in my family.
4. Lost 30 lbs.

So there!

I'm quite certain some cis-women will have equal problems crossing legs. I'm not convinced there is a gender bias, only cultural. As an aside, my older brother has always crossed his legs. His "junk" is normal size, doesn't have girlish bone structure, and neither is he gay. He's a physicist. I've never had a problem crossing my legs, but I don't do it because I worry about blood circulation and DVT.

I don't know what's so difficult about it... I can cross my legs just fine tucked and not tucked ( and often do ). Then again, I've been doing that all my life.

It's not the junk..

I've always been able to do it - and my junk wasn't small... It's a little smaller these days. :)

It's a combination of flexibility and weight in the legs as far as I can tell. I have several cis female friends that are overweight and can't do it at all. I also have cis female friends that are not overweight and can't do it, so they do it "like a guy". I know guys that are in unbelievable shape that can do it with ease. So I deduce it's flexibility and weight, but really can't tell cause I'm one of the ones that can't do it either.

~RoadToTrista~

I was able to do it before puberty.

Idk why you guys are saying it's not your junk. I can totally tell that that's the only reason I can't. >.<
