Does anybody know of a support group in the Lower Mainland south of the Fraser River? Surrey Delta or Langley areas?

To be honest, the trans support in our area is quite pithy.

Only Vancouver, there is specific trans support, even though there is your general queer support in populous cities.

A few people I know and I were going to begin a transgender support group in Surrey and utilise the library room once a month for that very purpose, but that idea eroded over time. We just didn't have the money, support, or resources to do so!

Thanks Mohini,

I've noticed that Fraser Health's resources are pretty lacking for us.  they were telling me to move to Burnaby or Vancouver. :(
Thankfully, My GP found a Therapist for me on this side of the river.  First appointment is in April.

I hope that things go well with you.

If you live in the Lower Mainland, and if you would like to at least check out the drop-in in Vancouver, I can always help accompany you if you do not feel so comfortable!

Just PM me to let me know; otherwise, I wish you all the best!

Thanks Mohini,
I had been to the Vancouver drop in on Thursdays about 2 years ago but it was very difficult for me to get there from Whiterock after work so I had stopped going. All the girls there were very helpful to me then but unfortunately I just couldn't keep going.

If I find I need to attend again I'll PM you.  Thank you. :)

Hi Coleen, CWH centre is also going to have their first drop in session. It's on this Sun Mar 10 from 3-4:30pm, sunday might be better for u? Assuming you work M-F.  Check cwhwc.com for more info.

jfong,

Thanks for the info, I do work M-F and the travel to Vancouver after work was always a problem, Sunday's however may be a better option for me.  I'll definitely look into it and I may just be there this Sunday.
