Nah, you've got nothing to worry about. Just last week our media was in a flat panic about a sudden 'heatwave' when our temperatures rocketed to a 'scorching' 13 degrees.

Just pack a swimming cozzie & some sunglasses, you'll be fine.  ;D

That having been said, we're currently suffering from a weather front nicknamed the 'Beast from the East' which is (allegedly) giving us colder temperatures than Alaska. Let's see... today, Anchorage has a 'high' of 1.6 degrees; our 'high' is 3 degrees.

So... not 'colder than Alaska' then.

I can't get my fridge down to that!

Ah ha.  13 is soooo hot.  It's rare for our winter maximums to be below 20 here.  I'm gonna freeeeeeze!

The Scottish comedian, Billy Connolly, once said: "There's no such thing as bad weather. Only the wrong clothing".

So wearing the right clothing will help you stay warm in Scotland. As will copious amounts of Buckfast. ;D

i'l take some of that warmth. its horrible here. Yesterday my mum said that the weather forcasts are getting better/more accurate. I had to point out that they are not its just cold wet all the time so its kinda difficult to get it wrong. not looking forward to this week either as its supposed to be -7. and thats pretty cold by anyones standard (Apologies to any Canadians).
Mountains can only be summounted by winding paths. And my path certainly has taken a few twists and turns.

I'm over the heat.. I don't mind a little warm weather, but days and days and days of unending heat without even a little night time relief is draining.. And I'm running out of cute things to wear in the heat.

You are just hardened, and of course had the brain removal on transplanting to the North. Tassies are the same.

Hang on a tick, what's this about the Tassies?
Brain removal?
Oh that's right, us Tassies have a spare brain in our second head, ha ha ha ha.
And as far as the weather goes, It's bloody hot, only 34c today or for all the others 93f.
It don't sound hot but you will burn in no time flat, seeing we have no ozone layer above us >:(
I'm a girl, I always knew!
Now it's time to stop hidding and show the world who I really am!

WEENIES!! All you Aussies.  >:-)

Can't stand a little bit of heat now, can you?

Here in SUNNY South Africa, we are used to those kind of temperatures, and high humidity to boot.

Okay, bye, I am now going to hide from the Aussie mafia because I'm in DEEP trouble now! :o

Sorry to be so late on this thread, but have beeen off the air for a few days. I have a bit of a wild ride since my doctor increased my "moves" dosage. Yes here in Melbourne we have had a week of days in the mid 30's and nights in the high twenties. Today the forecast is 39C. At the moment we have clear blue skies and only a ittle wind. Luckily this year so far we seemed to have escaped the realy hot days. Last year the end of Fenruary/First week March it topped 45C in Melbourne.

This last weekend though we had a public holiday, but on FRiday I was working at home with the cooling on (Temperature outside of 35C) and then the Internet went down. (I was doing some software work), then my fan started to slow down , then start,, then stop. Then I heard the fire brigade and the al of suddenly the lights went out, my Mac stopped working and the fan and cooling switched off. I rang the Electricity company who said they were investigating, but didn't know the cause, It was 2.30pm and it turned out the substation down the road had overheated and burst into flames knocking out the Telstra Internet Cable junction. Well 170 homes were effected.

Two hours later after I retreated to the local Macdonalds for a Ice cold Milk Shake and Air conditioning, I returned home to find still no joy. So it was time to put the bikini on and jump into the swimming pool. Feeling much better, i went into the house and shivered - the electricity was back on and the cooling was at full blast with 20C.

Well enough of that I thought, so on Saturday I headed to the ocean to stay dow there. I arrived at 8pm only to find the place I was staying in had just had a brownout. No electricity, the rental house in 40C heat inside, no electricity and no cooling, no lights . It was off for the next 4 hours.

On Sunday they said we were in for another week of mid to late 30s, but I heard this morning we might get a cool change on Thursday and possibly wonderful rain on Saturday!!
Hugs
