Why does my left shoulder strap always slide down my arm? I'm sure it's just trying to be sexy or something, but I'd rather keep everything where it's supposed to be.

Fwiw, this is my first bra experience, it's a "Genie" bra, it fits quite well and it actually helps my chest to look more feminine than without.

Any tips or suggestions?

Thx! :)

My S.O. has these little clips that pull the back straps toward the center - can't remember what they're called; they're round in shape, with little wing-things that catch the strap.

Might help.
I ain't scared... I just don't want to mess up my hair.

I usually adjust the length on the side that slides down to make it tighter... but sometimes... it just ain't gonna stay put. ;)

Blegh... if you ask me, those Genia Bras are really crappy. The only reason why they make your boobs look better is because they have foam pads in the front. If you're looking for a better option in the stretchy one-size-fits-most bras, I'd much more highly recommend Bali's or Barely There's comfort-flex wireless series. Those are both EXCELLENT. I did a lot of trial and error with bras, probably because I'm stuck trying to find something in the elusive 42B size, so I ended up buying like 5 different ones, (including a set of Genie Bras,) and I must say, to me there's no comparison. Those two are the ones that I wear every day now. The Bali bras are much more stretchy, so they hug the shape of the body better and as such do not slide down, and the Barely There bras have adjustable shoulder straps, so they won't slide either.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents on the topic. I highly recommend those two brands. They're a bit more expensive than the Genie Bras, being just under $30 each instead of 2/$20, but to me there's no comparison whatsoever in terms of comfort. And the good thing about these generic-size bras is that, because they're stretchy, and designed to fit multiple sizes, there's no need to get new ones as the estrogen does its thing. So, yeah, I'd definitely recommend trying them out.

(And yes, I am wearing a bra pretty much every single day now even though I'm only 2 months into HRT. Sensitive nipples and leaning my whole body across poker tables all day to collect the bets that people don't pull in, is a bad combination. It definitely requires the extra level of stabilization and protection.)

LOL...no, if I were to try something like that...I'd go to a professional piercing shop, rather than DIY....:)

You sure know how to deflate a girl's ego! ;) For me, they don't "pad" so much as "round out" the chest-bumps. Although I'm happy with the Genie, I will look into the other ones...I can see the Genie being hot in the summer with the pads.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean for it to come off like that... I was just saying that the pads are where pretty much all of the shape of that type of bra comes from, and that without them it's really not that great of a bra. In fact, when I took the pads out of mine, it actually made my chest look even flatter. I still do use the pads that came with the Genie Bra to slip into my others, though, when I want a little perk. So those at least are indeed very useful. Just not so much the bra that comes with them.

(Again, I'm sorry, I need to learn to watch my wording a bit more. That statement was definitely not intended to be taken personally.)

I"m sorry too, because I didn't mean for my comment to be taken as an affront...hence the  ;) ...I'm still *very* new to the world of bras, but it seems to me that many (if not most) have some form of padding/sponge-like material in the cup, not to increase bust size but to (perhaps) provide a hiding place for unwanted protrusions, should one become...nipply.

I didn't even know the Genie had those inserts, until I washed one...and was surprised to see these triangular tan-colored things going round and round in the laundromat's washer!! LOL  :embarrassed: I also have a pair of cleavage-makers, wasn't really impressed with their effect. (Even went on YouTube to see how to actually use them).

Just went on a bra spree at Victoria's Secret... Sooo much better than the one I had from target... The strap kept popping off! Ugh!

The ones at VS are indeed way more expensive, but I'm glad I opted for the quality, the fit is great, they were super nice, and the bras I got are extremely comfortable

^Well, in that case, forget absolutely everything that I said, and all of my suggestions. At that size, the Genie Bra probably is your best option.

OMG....now you're saying I'm HUGE.  ???

LOL    :D

Well....I are wut I are. And yes, next to most of my girlfiends, I do resemble a tackle for a semi-pro American football team...

Just saying that the highest size that the Bali and Barely There bras go is a 42, so recommending them is pretty pointless. Genie Bras, on the other hand, do go up to multiple X sizes, and are designed to fit all cup sizes, so they probably are your best option.

(Again, I'm sorry, I REALLY don't mean to offend if it's being taken like that. I'm sorry, I need to work on not being so blunt with my wording. I'm not used to offering this kind of advice. Please have mercy. I'm still learning this. :P [I'm going to go give myself a time-out in the corner now, before I say anything else... I've been a bad girl... sorry...])

No offense taken.   :-*

They do make bra extenders, so a 42 might yet fit me. Only problem might be the location of the cups. "Woman Within" has bras that go up to 52, iirc. Only problem is that the makers think if you're a bigger-band girl, you *must* have D or DD cups...
