Hello there. I have thought recently about the possibilities of colon scarring since I have had some stomache issues in the past, as well as Intestinal. I am having my SRS Next month and in doing the blood work for the Surgeon, they found my iron was low so they tested my Stool and found blood in it. I don't know why or what from, could be stomach lining bleeding or an ulcer, so I am having a colonoscapy next week to find out what's going on to get it fixed before my SRS with Chet. My question is, can I find out with the Colonoscopy if I have scar tissue on colon or not?! Is there a way to find out if there is scar tissue if the colonoscapy doens't show it?

I am just concerned that Dr. Chet will not be able to give me adequate depth becasue if there is scar-tissue on the colon or bladder, that greatly effects your depth results and restricts the Doctor from going deep. I just want to be able to have intimacy with my boyfriend at some point after SRS. Has this happened to anyone else or been a concern?

I do know that there is always a Colon Vaginoplasty option with Chet if there is scar tissue on the colon correct?! but I really don't want to go that route if I don't have to. 🙂

starbright, I am sorry to hear about this, they can indeed see scariing with a colonoscopy, but removing the scarring (sometimes called lesions, requires surgery. Hopefully they dont find anything major and it can be solved with vitamins and probiotics, which I highly recomend.

Can I presume that there is nothing unique about Chettawutt's technique that makes a colon scar a complication? I presume a scar on the colon would be equally problematic for other SRS surgeons? It's the first time I've heard about it though.

Hi Tesla, I had my surgery with Dr Chettawut, He told me after the Surgery he could not give me any more depth as I had a Scar on my Colon, I had no Idea until then that I had any problems down there, I am starting to Investigate It now as I would like more depth.

Interesting point you raise babz. So as far as you are aware you have had no procedures that could have possibly caused colon scarring?

If that's the case, from a pre op precautionary point of view, would you recommend it anyone considering GCS? Or do you think the medical fraternity should consider it an option?

HI Catherine,  I wish I had known that I had a Scar on my Colon before GRS I think People should consider It being Checked before Surgery Because this not the first time I have heard this, I never gave It a Second thought at the Time  I would have got a test to see if the Colon was okay, What puzzles me Is how It got damaged In the first place. I personally now have dilemma, I need more depth to have any form of Sexual Intercourse. & I was In formed that It would cost about £10500 In real money, to have a secondary Colon , But If I had known then what I  know now I could have had the same procedure for   as a primary GRS for £ 4000 more than what I paid. So If I went ahead It will have cost me about £25000 In total Instead of  £12000. I hope that makes sense. I know It Is not all about money but It dose matter In the Long run.

Aww, thanks so much!! ) I hope all works out. But yes, I WILL know if my colon is in great shape or not before I head over to Thailand, becasue I am not haveing SRS twice. If there is a problem, I can always talk to Chet beforehand and opt for the Colon Vaginoplasty in the first shot, which will give me much more depth. I cannot be sexually functional for my boyfriend with 4 inches of depth, no way. So I will figure this all out beforehand. I have a colonoscopy on the 13th and will hopefully get them to check the whole area thouroughly for scarring on and in the colon.

GOOD NEWS! Had my colonoscopy last night and the doctor did not see ANY SCAR TISSUE anywhere in my colon! YAYA

Allright!!! good deal!!! last thing either of usneed is more stress, now you can get on with more important things, like planning the trip!!

Excellent. I do have to ponder how a colon scar can be acquired in a healthy person who has never had any traumas to that area. Would an inflammatory bowl disease go unnoticed? Very unusual.

Swan, In reply to your post, If the Surgeon was doing his job properly he would have given me all the Facts & choices ( He did not ) as I understood at that time Colon surgery was only a possible Secondary & it was not offered to me at that time. I expect any surgeon to offer me all the options before going ahead you should know that as you are a medical person Also UK surgeons also thought I would only get 3 inches due to being on Hormones for many years so when my surgeon of my choice told me the same I never gave it another thought about colon Surgery The other Question Is would I Reccomend Dr Chettawut again the Answer Is, YES Because I expect every one of us who wants surgery to do Due Dilligance when Researching the Surgeon we want to use Either In the UK or Thailand, DR Chettawut has not ruined my Life He gave me what I asked for & at that time I only wanted to put my mind In Tune with my body Even If I could have sex or not.

I understand where you are coming from. I also believe that every patient must be informed what he is getting into and to understand what a realistic outcome of the surgery would be. Only a patient with realistic expectations can be a happy patient in the end... The colon thing is that it smells and it lubricates too much. Is perhaps a flap surgery a better option for you? You can always get more depth with a skin flap reconstruction or perhaps with an additional skin graft. Talk to different doctors about all possible techniques before proceeding with the colon vaginoplasty. I wish you luck with your search. Even though it is important to have female genitalia it is also important to have functional genitalia. So sister go ahead and fix that problem
