Okay hmmmmm so I gave myself four years to raise the top surgery money (which in my case I'm aiming to save $20 grand).  So if I get a job in September and barely spend my money on things that I don't need then perhaps I can get the money quicker.

Good plan, got the brain in forward gear now!

My family keeps needing me to help them with computer-y things, thinking that because I run Linux somewhat successfully I must know what I'm doing. Ha. Hahaha. They're so silly.

Though I think I have my mom's bootable Windows 7 flash drive all set up now. Potentially. It's such a simple thing, but I'm hopelessly incompetent when it comes to computers, I really am.

20 grand? That would have paid for my surgery two and a half times over (and mine was on the expensive side)! Are you planning on staying at a fancy resort during recovery or something? :D

I know I'll probably find out why when I see a therapist, but I've been wondering for a while today as I sit and drink...Why am I always so angry? I have been angry all my life, sometimes for no particular reason. Was it my future to become hate itself? I feel almost no happiness within myself sometimes. I feel like an endless pit of darkness. I sit in the dark all night, I prefer no lights on, I hate going outside, I only go to the gym at night. Maybe I'm just an owl or something. Maybe if I drink just a bit more I'll find out what my purpose in this world is.

Homemade brew is always good. Gets you feeling nicer faster. Been drinking since 9am this morning and its almost 2pm now.

My mother is perfectly okay with the fact that I took two Adderall (yes it's a low dose, but still) after not being on it for weeks, just to make myself not go all fuzzy and sleep in order to get more work done. In fact, she's the one who said to, and I didn't until I got frustrated enough with life not to care if it were to do something deleterious. Thankfully, nothing didn't.
Homework trumps my well-being. Everything is a giant brick wall. I just want to be me, not some girl that has been fabricated. My parents say they know me so well, but my own mother didn't even know I was struggling with severe hip pain until I finally told the orthopedic while there having my back looked at. That was nearly two years after that first day it started hurting. I wasn't telling because she said I was a hypochondriac looking for any excuse to stay home...now I don't know if whatever is wrong in there can be fixed, even if they find out what's wrong, just because it's been left untreated for a very long time.

Probably lol but no I'm just factoring in hiring a private nurse and increased costs, and Garramone's mansculpting procedure

I don't have the foggiest idea how to solve these problems:
1. At noon, Ship A is 150 km west of Ship B. Ship A is sailing east at 35 km/hr and Ship B is sailing north at 25 km/hr. How fast is the distance between the ships changing at 4 pm?
2. As Claudia walks away from a 264 cm lamp post, the tip of her shadow moves twice as fast as she does. What is Claudia's height?

Ive only really looked at the first problem here, but the trick is to set up a function that relates the distance between the two ships as a function of time.

If you draw a picture of the two ships at noon (time = 0 hours) and think about the velocity of each ship, you should be able to drae another picture of the ships' positions at 4pm (time = 4 hours)

The distance between the two ships can be calculated with the Pythagorean theorem.

Think about how the distance function can be set up using the Pythagorean theorem, the initial positions of the ships, the velocity of the ships, and what time it is, such that you get 150km at time = 0, and (spoiler alert) ~100.5km at time = 4 hours.

Then, and here's the part I didnt do, because I'm rusty with derivatives. .. take the derivative with respect to time of this function, and evaluate the result for t = 4. This gives you the rate of change (how fast the distance between the ships is changing) at 4 pm.

Did I lose you?

Only somewhat successfully?  How can I help?

Plain greek yogurt with a wee bit of real mapel syrup with some rolled oats and crystallized ginger thrown in is really tasty! My dog wants some.
