whatever character you are in dreams dosent nessesarry say anything about your gender,
one of my classmate once had a dream she was a water melon what kind of identety dose that gives her?

going all dream analysing here..

dreams are a way for the body to rest our emotions like we rest our body when we sleep, so by analysing a dream you are only looking at the current time, (more or less, your past can also be decribed)

when we dream we all dream in emotions and symbols of what things means to us to reflext something.
dreaming of birds can be a peacefull dream if you like birds and nature, it can also be a disturbing dream if your scared of birds and the birds is attacking you.

in dream analysing male and females is symbol of masulinety and femeninety, and if your a girl and dreaming your a guy it a symbol your taking many maculine qualetys in you, and opposite with males.

I am really not found of this part cause its very gender steryotypical and I dont belive in this hetronormative thing but again, you cant analyse something with the same result for everybody. its important to remember that whatever we dream if its about animal, people we know, or a certain gender, we need to think what we connect it with, so if your mom connect females with femeninety and males with power she might dream she is a guy for being powerfull, if you connect genders with, boy as being a guy and girl for the past, this could be a reason.
this is only a exemple, I think I know too little of your dreams to even being able to analyse it.
theres also a simple thing that if you dream something and starts to worry alot about it, you are more likely to dream about it again.

as said theres really alot of things to look at it, but if your worried about it then you should writte it down, and try to pay attention to your fellings about it.

Man, I hope my dreams have nothing to do with my gender. Or anything else, really, since I  usually have some pretty weird and messed up dreams. I usually classify them into three different groups: Ones where I'm a participant, ones where I'm the director, and ones where I'm a spectator. I usually have spectator or director dreams, and will usually assume the identity of one of the characters, and it's not uncommon for me to switch which character I am. And then there are the ones where.... Let's just say that the one dream which was a South Park episode where Ozzy Osbourne's intestines were possessed and he'd flatulate demons was tame.

I saw myself as genderless in my dreams up until a few years ago, or I would be outside the dream completely and would just be a spectator. I've been dreaming either as characters I used to write about or as male for the last 8 years or so. It's nice that I can actually process everything in my head now and not feel so overwhelmed I would have to create some poor creature on paper to deal with it for me.
I did my waiting! Twelve years of it! In [my head!] Azkaban!

My dream self image seems to be a direct reflection of that days presentation. the more i present female the more often i dream female.  however the vast majority of my dreams reflect my trans status rather than a cis illusion.
