Hey guys,
Was just wondering, if I'm on T for 15-20 years and still have my ovaries, by that time will I be truly sterile forever even if I get off T for a few months to begin ovulating again? I firmly believe by that time options will be available for two biological females to reproduce with just egg cells. I want biological kids with my future wife, no questions asked.

Risky as polycystic ovary syndrome may result from T and the lack of menstruation.  You may get it, you may not.  If you do get it, it may be treatable, it may not be treatable.

There have been a few pre-op FTMs who have given birth but I believe that is was artificial insemination using frozen eggs.  That may be a "safety" option for you - freeze a few.

Don't know about the two egg thing.  Definitely via artificial insemination.
To move forward is to leave behind that which has become dear. It is a call into the wild, into becoming someone currently unknown to us. For most, it is a call too frightening and too challenging to heed. For some, it is a call to be more than we were capable of being, both now and in the future.

Isn't there a way you can "harvest" and store eggs?

BearGuy,  how old are you now? in 15-20 years what will be your age will you be in menopause by then and couldn't produce eggs anyway.  I would like to be rid of all my internal parts within 5 yrs of starting T, don't want something bad to happen to me from having those parts still in me.

Could you freeze eggs after being a long time on T and then getting off of it? I just started T so it's too late for that, and I had no money freeze them before (of course I was thinking about it before T).

People react different to T ... there are stories of guys who have been on T for years who get pregnant and stories of guys who are T only a year and come off to get pregnant and can't.  So, no one knows really what it will do to you and if you were remain fertile or not

I don't know much about being sterile, but I don't think you are supposed to keep your internal organs for 15-20 years on testosterone.  I hear that after 5 years you need to seriously consider a hysto due to the risk of developing cancer. Thats what I have heard.

Yep, and I'm not taking my chances against cancer.
My consult is scheduled for September, so I can get my hysto early 2014.
I'll be one year on testosterone.
