Does anyone have any experience with medicaid (Fidelis managed care plan) and root canals? I need a root canal and my dentist told me that sometimes medicaid does not want to pay for it and rather they extract the tooth. My tooth is not all the way in the back and it would be horrible if they extracted it.

This seems to be a problem with a lot of the medicaid dental coverage of not enough payments for services and slow reimbursement. Not sure there is a fix than look around for a second opinion assuming another provider is available (sorry).
