Yeah used the men's room. I don't exactly pass but lately I am not getting misgendered so much. Must mostly be self confidence or something as I don't think I really look any different. Anyway, it was a safe space as I think 1/4 of the people were trans. So nothing happened. No one was in when I went in there so....

I have used single stall men's rooms.

Congrats! The first time I used the mens room was a single stall and I was about 3 months on T. The first time I used a multiple stall mens room was at Disney's Magic Kingdom. :) It does get easier over time, though. Certainly makes the journey easier.

I tried to use a single stall once, opened the door to find myself staring at someone's backside.  I quickly ran into the disabled toilet next to it lol.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Thanks guys (and gals). It'll be interesting where I think it will be safe to try this again. It was a very safe feeling with all those other trans folks around. Maybe some place full of liberals like Whole Foods. LOL.

The grocery store near my house has a 1 stall with door and 1 urinal.  I used to use it every time I went to the store, to 'practice' LOL. The very first men's room I used was in the airport, and again at a busy truck stop.  I had just started to pass but was nervous as hell.  When I got home I went to the grocery store, which was comfortable.

It's a big step! Grats man! My first time was pretty terrifying but you will find that after a while it gets easier.

For some reason I feel like apologizing. "On behalf of my birth gender, I am terribly sorry for the state of the porcelain and the walls and the floors and the sinks and the dispenser..."

The female toilets in my High School had tampons stuck to the ceiling... so I lived in perpetual fear of the things succumbing to gravity.  :o

Congrats!  I started using men's rooms full time when I went to college, a little over a year before I started T.  The good thing about the men's room is everyone in there seems to try to avoid looking at everyone else, so even if you don't pass that well you shouldn't have to worry much.

Actually, Disney is probably one of the safer places to 'go' (as it were). I used to work for them way back in the dawn of time, and they've always been LGBTQ friendly. Every year there would be an  unofficial 'Pink Shirt Day,' where anybody who was part of the community would wear a pink shirt to show their support. I always did, even though I didn't identify as Transsexual at the time, but I still wanted to show my support. There was always a picket line of religious nut jobs asking the question, "How could Disney allow a bunch of ->-bleeped-<-s into the Magic Kingdom?" and Disney would always answer, "Because Disney World is a place for all families.  Not just yours."

Now. If only they didn't treat their employees like crap....  ::)

State of facilities: Nothing horrendous or something that I haven't seen. I have seen awful women's rooms. It isn't unknown.
Disney: Not going there in the next few months (or years). But sounds like it would be a safe location. I am thinking my idea of Whole Foods isn't a bad one.
@Sammy-- I am aware of the "don't look at, talk, etc injunction". I am totally not even close to being a teenager. You might be a bit new here, but I am an older trans guy. OTOH, I realize once we start T we are ALL teenagers. :) I believe the reason one who is transitioning might feel everyone is looking at him is that we might feel we don't pass as males. This is true as I do NOT pass as male. Though lately, I am getting ma'amed quite a lot less...

Good for you, Jay, I know that is a big step for you!

You are doing it, Mister! ! ! I'm so happy for you. You keep wearing your newsboy cap and sticking up for yourself, and POOF! You'll be consistently passin' like there's no tomorrow!  ;)

I love using the gents whenever I get a chance--my latest conquest was a week or two ago at jetBlue Park--home of my baseball team's spring training facilities. Big sports facilities are especially fun for passing. I loved it when the guy said, Excuse me, sir, I need to check your ticket!   ;D

Andy you have an excellent memory (re: newsboy hat which I do, in fact, have). I suppose T might help more in passing though. But thanks for encouragement. We don't have big sport's team around here. The biggest thing around here is the Lobos.
