I spend too much time in the gossip portion of Susan's and not enough time in here learning useful tidbits.

To that end, I think it is time I expanded my knowledge base.

I have bought myself my first earrings and a necklace (nice looking set from Avon).

The necklace is being worn as soon as I get it, can't wait to wear something overly female. The earrings, I think will take a while working the nerve up to get pierced ears. Not found of people poking holes in me I have ZERO interest in anything else on me getting holes punched in it.

They cover all the bases for me. Delicate, lacy looking has white (the faux pearls) has pink and features roses as well as faux diamonds. Would you believe, they cost me only 8 bucks!! How can anything so nice looking be so inexpensive?

Gee how about that, the necklace was not long enough

I was not surprised though, I have a neck size that I think is a lot of people's waist size (ok I am likely exaggerating).

But I will need to seek out a specific chain for the necklace I suppose. The items cost me so little I am likely going to want to upgrade the quality of the chain any way. You can't get serious jewellery for 10 bucks

I was able to enjoy the earrings through a bit of clever thinking though. Until I get pierced ears, I can always sneak them into my outfit as enhancements to my collar (I wear typical polo tshirts in mono colours).

I think they looked really pretty and it was my first venture out with jewellery on, without it being a slap in the face obvious act.

So I told myself the other day, no damn it, I am wearing my necklace today.

I usually wear a black bomber style leather jacket, and black coloured pants. I tend to look nothing at all 'pretty'.

But I elected to wear one of my white polo t shirts, as I thought it would match the jewellery. I put the earrings on the collars like before, but I added a home made solution to the necklace (temporary quick fix) and made a slight chain lengthener by using some white thread which I made several strands into one. It was at the back after all, and under my increasingly longer hair at the back.

And I personally thought it didn't look tooooo bad.

I thought it looked pretty and regardless of whether pretty works on what seems like 'handsome' I was not caring.

So I went to the mall and Tim Horton's and brazenly enjoyed being seen in my new necklace. I think over all it had to be clearly visible. Mom saw it from a distance with my jacket on and liked it. I know it was visible without the jacket on at Tim Horton's. And while at the hobby shop, my friend claimed it looked pretty on me and to be honest I was over the moon she noticed said she noticed and said she liked it and never once made any sort of comment that she was surprised I'd be wearing it.

Maybe walking around carrying what is definitely not a 'man bag' has been of use eh. No my purse looks like a purse.

I can't see myself justifying wearing this same set of jewellery all the time of course, but, it sure felt nice being in it and nothing ill happened as a result.

Well, after several days of wearing my jewellery in an ostentatious in your face fashion, i have enjoyed it.

Now my only real problem is, 'well I can't just wear the same thing indefinitely'

That, and it look nice with my white and my canary yellow tops, but I am not so sure with some of the others.

And in some cases, it might be over kill fancy too.

But it has sure been fun wearing them and KNOWING people can see them.

I suppose I will need to search a new threshold to experience now.

It's a very pretty set! 

I have had two women now, my age range both compliment my necklace out of thin air with no prompting.

First was a hobby store owner friend of mine, but today I had a lady tell me she liked my necklace out of the blue while I was grocery shopping with my mother.

I am VERY amused.

My mother today commented, 'well you know some men wear fancy jewellery too'. But I told her in reply 'I don't really care why men wear what they wear'. And I made it clear in my comment, so, I'm not a man where's the relevance. She did remark that I do after all look like a man from the neck up and she was not wanting to be mean saying it. I should have told her, 'well water is wet too'

I realize I look male, the male pattern hair loss being quite the over whelming first clue hehe. The quite considerable neck size also no help.

But I personally think I look a bit prettier wearing my necklace. I think the purse also tends to be an alert signal, warning this person likely is not what you might think.

Small steps. Today the necklace, tomorrow a woman's type T shirt, maybe in the not so distant future I pass on a couple of models, and buy me a real wig and maybe lose the male pattern hair loss limitation.

Good for you Lesley, small steps are all we need take and suddenly we have travelled miles.

I have to admit that pierced ears were a watershed for me. On reflection I have no idea why that was so it was such a minor thing. Although in practice it did trigger everything. Because later my Dr was looking at me during a routine check up and just said, every-time I see you your ear rings are bigger. It triggered the response yes I'm TG can you write a referral to someone who can help me.

Journey's start.

Yeah I think what I like the most about the necklace and the earrings (which I am only able to wear on my collars so far, but they look nice there too), is how loudly they scream out 'yes, there is something VERY unique about me!'

I had a friend of my son's ask me the other day when I got home from a walk 'why are you wearing woman's jewellery?' and I replied, 'because their mine'. I figured, I don't feel like a long explanation, I added him to my Facebook the other day, surely he has to have read at last soooooome of the message stream and realized, 'hmm I didn't realize this about his dad'. But then I consider HIS Facebook stream, and it looks like an incredibly long stream of gushing on and on and on and on about how he is sooooo over the top in love with his girlfriend (I doubt he spends much time reading anyone else's  comments elsewhere but hers

My hair is getting increasingly longer, but, the male pattern hair loss means I am doomed to never grow it any different than what I call 'cool old man looking' style. With nothing growing from out of the front to top in the center worth mention, it will never have the ability to emulate any manner of ordinary female fashion. Long enough to put in a pony tail will never make me look more female.

Some day I might get the wig, and at that time, I will need to ponder, do I just cut my real hair shorter so as to not interfere with the wig?

Being a big Sailor Moon fan, I of course day dream about wearing my hair nice and full on long and having a great big bow in the back like Sailor Venus who just reeks of feminine. Or in a pony tail like Jupiter. I long to wear cute hair enhancements. I long to have the hair needed to wear the enhancements.
