Christina Jean

Hi

So my name is Christina and I would just like to introduce myself.  I am a transwoman and support this website as a resource.  For me transition has been an incredibly wonderful experience that really just completely fulfilled my life.   I always new I was trans ever since I was young.  As a cisgendered boy I assumed when I grew and reached puberty I would just change into a girl.  Even though there wasn't any rational thought in that belief, it was completely real for me and exactly what I expected.  I guess it did happen, but it just took a little bit longer than I thought.

Anyhow I have been out for about three years.  I came out to my wife who accepted my as I am and loves me very much and doesn't care that much about what my gender is, just about who I am, which means the world to me because I love her so much.

I have gotten pretty deep into gender studies and gender theory and have a whole library now in my house just dedicated to trans issues and gender.  I have become a little bit of a junkie on trans issues but it is just because I have so many questions and even three years on into transition there is still so much that I want to learn.

I realized the other day that when I was finally contemplating transition as a real step in my life five years ago, Susan's Place was actually one of my main resources.  I absorbed this site like a sponge for three or for months and the stories and posts here really gave me the courage to take the first steps.  So now I am back and will try to be a part of this community to support other people.

Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister.

And be sure to check out these links ( MUST READS )

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me
