So last Wednesday I reached my 3 month mark on hormones and I have to say I should've felt happy but I wasn't. So far in my transition I've experienced no changes except for sore nipples due to starting breast growth. Everything else about my body still screams male and isn't changing. I'm wondering if I'm being impatient or if its just a really slow process and what should I start expecting to see in the next several months?

It's a slow process. I'm in the same boat, and all I think we can do is wait.
If it helps, 6-7mos seems to be the watermark for "noticeable changes manifest."

OK so around summer time I should start seeing some effects, that sounds like it would be such a relief to finally start seeing my body become more femininefeminine

Its so zetta slow. I agree though, 6-7 months you should be able to look back and see a diffence, even if not too huge.

Patience is the name of the game I'm afraid >.< You should take a lot of pictures of your transition though so you can see sizeable differences. I kind of wish I took more.

I'm in my third month too. All I've seen are sore nipples and a little bit of bulge, noticing smells more, and the whole female orgasm thing.

I'm thrilled, though. I love having breasts. They're tiny ones, indistinguishable from normal male flab, but in my book, they still count.

The key, I think, is not to expect much from HRT. Femininity is IN YOU. HRT won't change that one way or another.

Hang in there, sister.

Wait... How d'you manage that? :curious:

I think it's really hard to know how well HRT will change you subtly. But three months probably isn't enough to see obvious changes. I've been on HRT for about six weeks and other then lots of breast tenderness and my skin feeling softer, I don't think I've had much changes. My pore size seems to have diminished visually and my stomach seems to be look more womanly and curved but I don't know. The one thing I know changed is my vein size. The veins on my hands have almost disappeared and what the veins I can see are really thin. Maybe the lower half of my face is thinning out. Maybe. Some girls seem to have much better results than others and I think it's a genetic lottery.  Maybe HRT is a lot like how Hemingway described bankruptcy in The Sun also Rises: it happens gradually; then suddenly.

I guess I'm being pretty impatient expecting to see changes. sI have to say looking on the positives that I'm now on the right track to being comfortable in my own skin. I'll just have to wait and see the changes to come. Though I am curious about a general timeline HRT takes.

From what I've read and from what my doctor has told me, 2 years is generally a good point to have a general idea of where you'll be.

If you excuse the poor and inconsistent photography,as well as some goofy expressions, you can look at the timeline of myself I put together :P

I'd advocate taking the matter up with your endo.  I didn't notice much when I was on low dose but the changes (breasts, skin softening, maybe some body hair reduction) have been coming along pretty good since getting kicked up to a meaningful dose two months ago.

However I do have to wonder if my right breast I bogarting the E I'm putting in me.  It's doing so much better than my left.

Hang in there Julia!  I was pretty depressed looking at my pre and 3 month photo of my face, but other things are moving along slowly.  Just be patient and give it time.

Not much to manage. The first time I achieved sexual release after I started low dose E, there it was. It really took my by surprise. It's kind of a bonus after the initial squirt.

Hi Julia,

A lot will depend on the level of HRT your health professional has you on. At the 3 month mark they are still working out how you are coping and how it's metabolising, and how you metabolise it.

Not the sort of thing you can expect miracles from. Spent your time more fruitfully looking inside and developing your feminine persona. The rest will follow.

Be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine
