I did quit myself and ran away to spain with all my money to get FFS. This was what I had to do just to stay alive.

i am going to do the exact thing myself...run away
i can always get a job... but i cant always have the opportunity
to get FFSd and you dont get younger girl....

although i know my boss real real well and what i do wont surprise him lol
he will say i dont  @#$% care... just do your job and no one will bother you..

i have to say i work in remote mining camps in northern British Columbia in the Kitchen
sort of isolated but i get exposed to everyone 2x  day...

This is a good question.  I work for a huge international software company based near San Francisco, for almost 10 years.  Pay's not great, but it's stable and pays the mortgage.  They _say_ they are GLBTQ-positive, but whether in reality... it remains to be seen and there's legal research that i still have to do, to be more sure of that.

Over the years opportunities surfaced, to go with smaller startups for more money; very tempting since there's a lot i could do with that money.  Now that i have started transition, i am so glad that i did not !

I should add that my specific job is in consulting... so almost all of my time is spent with customers; either on the phone or in person.  I'm also the senior person on our team, having ducked promotion to management because i like what i do and it gives me more time for family. 

The real challenge will be, how to present as whom, and when. 

I don't mind being an actress, it doesn't hurt so much now that i have come out at home and to a few close friends.  Oh yes, and online as well

Work for the local gov't agency in family law(ie.lol, rather not say), job is adverserial. Been there for 15 years, schooled in various fields, at the technical level, two at the BA level, and other working on my Master level. I"m aghast with people who have a Ph.D(Piled high and Deep), lol, my best friend has a Ph.D and is a lt col. in the us. army. Same age as me, but eh, I'm grateful to scratch his brains

I respect people who want privacy, for people who state they got advanced credentials, why?, you'd be surprised of jealousy, but eh. Glad to have this forum to reach out to my fellow human beings.

I work in health care/pharmaceutical sector. Last six years I've been a CRA (Clinical Research Associate) monitoring clinical trials.

I will quite my job at the end of this year, latest, and hopefully start studying nursing and go full time at that point.

There is just no way that I would be accepted in my current job, as people are terminated even because of their personalities.

I worked in television until two weeks ago. Now on the super job hunt. Hopefully I can find something, resume therapy, and finish my transition.

I work in consulting and have for most of my post-college career.

I'm an engineering student and I co-op as an OBD calibrator for an automaker. My company actually has an LGBT organization thing within it, and it received a perfect CEI score for the fifth time this year. Not expecting any problems with my transition. Hopefully.

Very interesting to see the huge variety of professions people are in. Difficult to see any particular sector stand out. I'm an engineer by training and have a  senior management position in a fairly large international engineering company. I have discussed my transition with my employers who, while very sympathetic, also considered that transitioning in such a high visibility position needed to be thought through very carefully.
We have carparked the subject for now and I try to juggle with living a double life, torn between the huge satisfaction I get from my job and the need to finally get closure on my gender identity issues.

P.S. Probably worth mentioning that I am post FFS and have long hair which I wear tied back at work. While I'm no beauty, my appearance is feminine enough for me to be frequently called "Madame" by third parties eg. at airport security, in restaurants, hôtels...even when dressed as a man.
