While the boyscouts do not allow LGBT participation, Troop 56 in Cambridge, Massachusetts decided to go against this rule. This troop allows gay members, allows gay parents to participate, and is co-ed (which is also against the rules, except for certain activities). Smith, a boyscout with gay fathers said '"It's really no problem whatsoever, I haven't had anyone ask about it, comment about it," he said. "We just don't really care. I feel that everyone should be able to feel as easy with their parents and having their parents participate in this wonderful activity as I do."'

The Boy Scouts of America is supposed to vote next month on whether to overturn their ban on gay participation.
